HITMAN 3 Soundtrack / OST - Discussion

I loved the music in HITMAN and HITMAN 2.
2016 had a distinct feel and part 2 took it to a different level.
3 builds directly off the Isle of Sgàil theme in my opinion.
From the menu theme to the in-game tracks, everything (other than Berlin) is very haunting and a bit operatic. Suits the tone of the story perfectly.

That tango from Mendoza was poignant and perfect for that scene at the end.

I love hitman 3s theme, but as a main menu it just gets too repetitive after the first few hundred hours. It doesnt really fit the mood of replaying for fun, etc, and while it matches Hitman 3s campaign and themes, I think they should be an option in the settings where you can choose your main menu theme music. Hitman 1s WOA is gold, and Hitman 2s is relaxing- both of these can contribute to making it a better experience for players that are tired of hearing the choir. Many people heavily dislike the choir, and while I disagree with them, I think it would be beneficial to have this feature and please many different people.

Yeah this is a good idea or it should just play one of them randomly, they could even put some of the mission theme’s on rotation

Yes it would be nice having different ones play in the Campaign section when you hover over the different games

Alright, I hate to bring this topic up once again, but I found this comment thread on a youtube video.(Club Hölle soundtrack)

Is this new info?
At this point, I have no idea who made the soundtrack.

Noeneon is a fraud, it was made by Dynamedion specifically for IOI in Hitman 2.

Noeneon didn’t compose anything for H3, it was a lie he told while plagiarising the work done by Niels Bye Nielsen. Noeneon admitted to this back in May here on the forum.

Now I don’t know how old that post is from the YouTube comment section, I assume that the screenshot is of recent date, which means he’s still plagiarising others work.

I took that screenshot today, which means noeneon posted that comment a month ago, which is wayyyy after IOI stepped in to clarify the truth.

Well one would hope he packed up his act after being confronted here. I wonder what kind of actions IO are pressuring.

The menu themes are my highlights of the entire trilogy’s soundtrack, so this was hard to chose. The melancholy of H2’s Agent and Handler just cinches it for me though.

Yeah its the most relaxing. Hitman 2016s theme isn’t too far off though.

HITMAN HIDEOUT Podcast #8 | Interview With Niels Bye Nielsen. Premiering 25 hours from now.

This official eighth episode features hosts timothymark and myself (Rieper1) interview the esteemed and extremely talented composer of the World of Assassination soundtrack - Niels Bye Nielsen. We discuss the creative process of writing music for a Hitman trilogy and what it takes to intertwine it with AAA game production. We wrap things up with the now familiar viewer/listener mail bag response segment. Happy viewing/listening!

This might be the first video interview we’ve gotten from Niels Bye Nielsen and I’m excited for it!

Edit: Premiere in 1 hour and 45 mins. I’m currently listening to both the New York and Mendoza soundtrack in preparation.

I’m on the completely opposite spectrum. I much rather have a theme written for a specific level. I find the Providence trilogy overall soundtrack service level “good” and unmemorable. I can’t recall any themes from the trilogy, other then the launch trailer theme from 16.

Where C47, SA, Contracts and BM are easily springs to mind.

Codename 47’s soundtrack actually did blend depending on what the player was doing.

0:00 was exploration, 3:08 was visiting the strip club and 4:04 when boarding Jegorov’s ship / starting a gunfight.

my favourite soundtrack was the ending theme in codename 47

I guess this is technically Hitman 2, and might as well go into “things about hitman…” but I somehow missed these alternate Whittleton Creek bits when they were first put up on youtube by @Salem

I really like this. It has a strong 80s vibe, and the “idyllic neighborhood where weird shit is going down” feels like a classic 80s trope, so it really fits in my opinion.
I understand that they chose to go in another direction, and it works as well, but honestly I think I’d prefer this style.

In general I feel like the deleted tracks are better than what they went with. The original extraction theme from Colombia for instance is fantastic:
