Wrong sin unless you are shooting for Despair in which case congratulations.
Imagine how traumatised a person would be if he came across that just scrolling down this thread looking for the latest news on this super-season pass only to see that.
I donāt think this DLC means that we wonāt get more elaborate expansions later in the year. I predict that some sort of remastered levels pack will be released by the end of this year. This gives them a chance to make some easy money while Hitman III is still relatively hot, and theyāre probably working on more substantial DLC on the side.
Hey, if you love the āart bookā good for you. The soundtracks are OK but now available everywhere thanks to streaming, and Iām not that desperate to own them. I like the suits and item rewards in game, but most of these are simply reskins of other in game items. The commentaries are interesting 20 second clips but I have heard that info recycled in numerous interviews now and only listened on my first playthrough. Escalations are better than in previous games but they are simply not as interesting or as good value for money as creating two solid new maps or even some special missions with new targets on old maps. For the same amount in H2 we got 2 missions, 2 sniper maps, 4 cut ETā¦ I mean Special Missionsā¦ And I thought the H2content was infinitely better value than a hastily created marketing PDF and some MP3s pulled from the files.
So this community seems to have jumped on the idea that the only content in this expansion is 7 escalations and some reskinned items. No where in the press release is this stated. It specifically says that the focus of the first season is a new escalation but it mentions nothing about the other 6 seasons. It could be that season 1 is just one escalation but season 2 is much more than that. I would suggest that you all wait and see what comes out and buy them month to month instead of complaining about the lack of content. Donāt buy Season 1 if you donāt want that escalation.
It also states in the release that the cost is 29.99 (dollars, euros and pounds). The cost for each month is 4.99. Just buy the ones you want. Deluxe owners (yes I am one) arenāt āowedā any more content than we already got, which was exactly what was advertised when we bought that version.
This would definitely be the best case scenario, especially seeing how the time frame for the 7DeadLyCins goes until September. You could point that they may have more substantial content planned to fill in the time between then and EoLā¦
Still, given weāve had an entire new games cost ($30 Deluxe+$30 SDS) for only new escalations and deluxe extras, Iām not sharing the optimism until we have more evidence for bonus missions/new maps/w/e.
Iāll be amazed - AMAZED - if the future Sin seasons contain more than Escalation(s) and related Unlocks.
The only way Iād actually pay for this full price right now is if IOI came out and straight up said this expansion is to help secure financing to produce a new map(s) or something equivalent.
After supporting IOI from the very beginning, going through all their ups and downs and despite it all still understanding all the difficulties theyāve been through, the sole and only thing Iām interested in at this stage is real new content. All these new cosmetic stuffs are lovely but itās not gonna make playing through Paris or Whittleton Creek fresh again.
Maybe itās my fault. I played the trilogy to death. Iām almost done SA every single Featured Contract, I even did those photos in the 47 posing with his targets. I know every level like the back of my hand and thatās why these escalations/cosmetic stuff donāt cut it for me. Only new content will quench my thirst for more lol.
I realize most Hitman players are not as hardcore as some of us. And these guys might be genuinely excited with the announcement. Iām really happy for them
Yeah the price seems a bit off. I canāt see me spending Ā£30 on this when for an extra fiver I could get Disco Elysium on the 30th.
Oh my god, I hated The Hobbitā¦
Iāll wait for the first sin pack to see what it contains before considering to buy it. So far it does not sound too exciting.
What makes it feel a little off is that 47 is not much the sinful person. Sure he murders but he is far from the core personification of these sins.
Thatās what Iām doing
I donāt begrudge IOI the right to monetize further DLC, I am however quite disappointed in them for not having a stronger offering on which to introduce monetization, especially given the amount of free content they provided with the H2 season pass. They set themselves a high bar I guess and now they are setting themselves a high price for as yet unannounced content with an uninspiring first salvoā¦ If theyād released Colorado instead of Paris as their first map in 2016 and said ātrust us, weāve got lots of surprises in storeā I doubt thereād have been as many season passes sold, an independent IOI, or a H2.
Most of the free themed levels were dropped with little to no notice, Holiday Hoarders, Halloween Hawkes Bay, so Iām fairly sure this will continue as wellā¦ Just a matter of time and development, Iāll continue to support them with purchases, because I enjoy the content (both paid and free). At this rate Iāll probably still be replaying Paris with new items in 2024.
Ngl this seems a bit disappointing, I wouldāve loved to see a bonus mission in Chongqing
considering each pack is the same price, it would make no sense for one pack to offer much more than another
This now makes me think now: how many gold coins would you need to cover absolutely every cube centimeter of the Specter?
MP3s werenāt simply pulled from the files. If that was the case they would of turned out a lot different. The reason why we havenāt had a proper soundtrack for HITMAN 2 before was due to its dynamic music and how it changes depending on the situation.
A lot more effort went into this content more than how you put it.
Alongside what I posted was by using a Objective Standpoint not my own personal opinion. The $35 pricing of the Deluxe Pack is there and the value is completely fair when you look at it objectively.
The Soundtracks are around $8-$10 each if they sold on digital stores.
The DE could be priced at around $3-4 each.
On the low end of the numbers we already have $42 worth of content.
So while your personal preference is I donāt see much value in this, but see value in this. When again you look at it without your personal preferences and just whatās bundled in with all of it the value and pricing is completely okay.
I think this looks cool but too expensive. Iām guessing there will be real bonus missions either as part of this or as free shit with the purchases of this new DLC going towards funding them.
I feel really bad for saying Iād buy new DLC for Hitman 3 to keep the support going, because I shouldāve added that Iād buy YEARLY Dlc. Not one month after the previous Dlc pack has been done.
