Digital deluxe editions are always underwhelming so I’m not bothered about that but I can’t say I’m interested in an expansion that’s all just escalations. I never play those more than once
That maps will be used for new content. Kinda like the Halloween escalation in Hawkes Bay which might be a prototype of what to expect here. Just how The Vector was a prototype of Sniper Assassin missions.
7 Sins > 6 H3 maps. Do you think they will use a map twice instead of picking a legacy map?
What is up with you people using the phrase “forced to pay x to get y”. I am also “forced to pay even more money than my apartment rent if I want Internet” as well. But nobody puts it that way. Also because you have free will that makes you able to just not buy things you see not worth.
Don’t buy things you don’t want or think is not worth the price.
Don’t get mad at others if you make yourself still buy such stuff.
The deluxe content is delivered to the letter by the end of this month. If one expected more, then they made that “more” up themselves. Same goes for this here.
I look forward a possible Bonus Mission (pack) and am willing to pay for it, If this 7 sins thing is not that pack, I probably won’t get it.
Yes that’s the same I don’t like , we paid 90€ and now 30 but no more new maps
No need to run , to pay this I will buy all when they are complete
I’d still use it though.
I imagine they probably will use a legacy map, but if they do they’ll have to make it playable for people who don’t own the access passes. otherwise you’ll get people who paid £30 upfront for the DLC only to find out in 2-3 months time that if they want to play the (already very expensive) content they paid for, they’ll need to pay more
That being said, they could have an escalation for each H3 map without having to reuse any (ICA facility comes free with the base game)
I’m definitely up for this is the price is right. Speaking of which though has there been an update for the H2 maps on epic yet?
Oh thanks, I must have missed the update. I got to figure out how to redeem that
Im sure thats the reason they made them purchasable individually. Just in case when they relase some for Hitman 1 and 2, that people could have avoided that by buying them one by one, if they only have HItman 3.
Tho, I really like the idea of the facility you brough up. That would, at least kind of, allow us to use gear and all on a newly imagined ICA facility. Could be cool!
I Think in theory:
Since Hitman 3 does include H1 and 2 just gate walled off by the access passes. They could still release DLC for them and only allow access though that certain escalation or bonus level.
Though would likely create a fair bit of confusion on things.
I cant wait for two, three years in the future, when they lay all this confusion and purchase clusterfuck to grave and just sell everthing at once as “Complete Edition”. Its time, IOI.
Sorry for my English.
Usually I’m one of the first to turn into a toxic bastard and start posting criticism to the developer’s company. But this time I didn’t even have to do it. Therefore, it is nice to see that forum users are gradually taking off their rose-colored glasses.
7 escalations that cost as a base game? This is definitely an overpriced price tag aimed at fans like me. I love unlocking gear and items, so I’ll buy this DLC anyway. But what’s next? Nothing prevents them from selling the next DLC for $ 100, because there will still be people like me who will buy it.
Many have compared this case to the pricing policy of Paradox Interactive. Many DLCs from Paradox are worth their money. These additions complement the core gameplay mechanics and remain there for the rest of the game’s lifecycle. The same cannot be said about escalation. The only point in replaying them is to improve the time on the third level of Escalation. This is one-off content.
Summing up, if this money is partially spent on the development of modified versions of the original maps, then I will be very happy. If not, then I will lose the desire to financially support the company outside the Hitman franchise.
If everyone buy this DLC like you we will never see new maps coming.
why bother developing new maps if 7 contracts and a few unlocks can be sold for the same price as the Hitman 2 DLC
Pretty appropriate they’re starting off with greed. So this is just Deluxe Escalations Mk.II then?
Y’all remeber in seasons 1 and 2 when expansions gave you new maps to play? Wasn’t that cool? $30 for escalations and some reskins is just riduculous. I seriously hope this isn’t gonna be the map remixes they were talking about. Talk about lazy.
There always will be people who will take it or who will riot first but then will take it anyway, because they have no choice. I mean there is always a choice of rejecting buying something, but when you realize you want that and there is no other way to have it other then buy it, you’ll still buy it
If there is a level where these two meet up bc they are banging, that would break HMF with all the memes and fan happiness.
So, to be clear:
The game’s been out for 2 months and the servers are still dodgy.
There are also a bunch of fairly major unfixed gameplay issues like the Tranq glitch and wallhacks.
On top of a base game with only 5 ‘proper’ new maps.
And now you want another 30 or whatever for some escalations and reskins on what is essentially a five year old game (which you seem to have moved on from anyway)?
And that’s on top of an extremely thin deluxe edition?
If you feel like supporting this type of behaviour in the industry go right ahead, but for me: absolutely no chance.
Ahh yes, the Premium Deluxe Edition. To be followed by the ‘Ultimate Premium Deluxe Edition’, and then ‘Hitman 3: Game of the Year Supreme Collection’, and the ‘Ultimate HITMAN Triology Premiere Bundle’.
At IOI office:
“Hey guys, rememeber how people got really confused becuase Hitman 2 had so many different versions?”
“Yeah?”
“Instead of just giving people a simple paid pass that just gives you all the content when it’s available, let’s just make it so that there’s loads of different DLC versions that you have to pay for individually. And let’s make sure it’s unclear which DLC gives you which pieces of content. Oh and while we’re at it, let’s not bother with Bonus Missions. People hated those. Escalations that you play once and are done with forever are where it’s at. Oh at let’s not forget to add some cheap reskins that add nothing interesting or different to the game whatsoever.”
“You’re a genius, Jim.”
This is a really important point. If a large enough proportion of the fanbase endorses this behaviour by purchasing the Seven Deadly Sins DLC, then this low effort/high price strategy will become the norm and could directly prevent better quality content being produced. As @hitman93 says, why would they bother?
