If that was truly the case, I’d rather them be super honest and up front with their community. Whether it’s due to the pandemic and they can’t make stuff as frequent but need help, I would support them even if they made goofy things as thanks for support. But this is clearly a business tactic, it’s happening everywhere too much for it to be a coincidence.
But don’t feel bad dude, your heart is in the right place. I personally think they are abusing that though.
I’ve always said they should just make the ET’s permanent, just disable the score unlocks. There’s tons of dialogue and stuff that I would love to experience in the ETs but I have to focus on not fucking it up so all that goes to waste. But then they use recycled content as content. Or they’ve have to make more heaven forbid.
I really don’t feel like there’s been much “Nth level of negativity” overreaction in the thread so far. The tone has been more “people are disappointed with the value proposition that seems to be on offer” rather than “people are assuming that IOI are malicious rip-off merchants”, IMO. You might be happier with the pricing of the Sins DLC than others and therefore not agree with them, but I haven’t seen many people go completely off the deep end myself: they just are less happy about the pricing of this content than you are.
Call me a “sheep” I guess but this excites me. I think $5 an escalation is a bit off pricing wise, I get why some complain, but they seem to be changing the maps a lot for these and the deluxe escalations were great, so for me it is worth it. Middle class privilege I guess.
The main worry I have is that this means no bonus missions, but we’ll have to see what happens. I still think that could come as a last hurrah for the WoA trilogy.
After reading the announcement again i am now pretty convinced that it wont be 7 escalations as the main thing.
Contracts sounds too vague to be always escalations. And the 4-6 weeks part also indicates different levels of effort.
But as every packs will cost the same they cannot be too different in the eyes of the players.
Some packs could be on a special assignment level of content imo. I hope they all share the quality of having been at least touched visually enough to stand out.
The suits are like the rubber ducks. They made sense in HITMAN 2016 and they fitted 47s style and all as well as making the game fun. Now it’s just overdone and random.
Jesus Christ the rubber ducks live rent free in the heads of Hitman Boomers. Ive barely had to use them because we have micro explosives and tons of other devices. Imagine complaining about like what, 7 items in the explosives category? A category that has like 30.
I don’t see why suits are a bad thing either. Like adding more suits deliberately impacts the game negatively… somehow? Back in 2004 did anyone complain when San Andreas came out and were like “wait, I can customise how my character looks? Grumble grumble, I preferred when we had 5 outfits.” Like more cosmetics is a good thing, the price of this DLC is the actual negative of this DLC. Not the fact we have suits.
I like Escalations. I even replay them a lot. Still didn’t buy the Deluxe Edition and neither going to buy the Seven Deadly Sins DLC. Sure, Escalations are fun, but paying extra money for them and a bunch of suits I’m not going to use? Pass. Still going to wait and hope for some Bonus Missions.
Yeah that’s true. It’d make more sense if there was like 2 escalations for one season, 1 bonus for one season. I don’t know, seems weird to segment these purchases in the first place if it’s all going to be escalations. Who’s going to buy just 1 escalation?
I’m waiting for a sale because it’ll probably be good, I like escalations and I think the Deluxe ones were especially good but I want to pay for something relative to the quantity of the product as well as the quality. They could be the best escalations ever but escalations take about 20 minutes to beat and while they are replayable it’s mostly for score rather than to find new kills.
Just thought I would highlight that £4.99 over here in the UK is the equivalent of $6.85 or 5.79 EUR. I assume other regions will be similarly disadvantaged by this too.
