Eveyrthing is possible, but not everything will look good. For Chongqing Day, I recommend Kevin Rudd’s ToD mod. He made it look really good!

Time Of Day Real Time v1.0.0

Allows Time Of Day Changes In Real Time While Playing In Game (1,056 Possibilities)

The mod is set for a 15 minute interval from one time of day setting to the next, and then another 15 minute interval back to the original time of day setting. So over the course of 30 minutes the time of day will execute one cycle.

One example below in static images of the two ‘states’ cycled between over the course of 15 minutes, between Dartmoor and Hawke’s Bay Halloween Time Of Day Settings

This mod allows 1,056 unique time of day settings for all the map’s in total, using these map’s time of day settings as the ‘pool’ to pick from: ICA Facility (Intro), ICA Facility, Dubai, Dartmoor, Berlin, Mendoza, Chongqing, Carpathian Mountains, Haven Island, Siberia, New York, Hantu Port, Himmelstein, Isle of Sgail, Whittleton Creek, Mumbai, Santa Fortuna, Miami, Hawke’s Bay, Hawke’s Bay (Halloween), Hokkaido, Hokkaido (Patient Zero), Colorado, Colorado (Vector), Bangkok, Bangkok (Source), Marrakesh, Marrakesh (Built on Sand), Sapienza, Sapienza (Author), Sapienza (Icon), Sapienza (Mamba), Paris

For the more technically inclined, this mod pulls all the ‘main’ time of day settings for all of the 33 time of day bricks listed above and LERPs between SColorRGB, float32, and ‘jumps’ between bool values every half cycle from the two maps of your choice. Some of those setting include:

  • GlobalLight, [modules:/zgloballightentity.class].pc_entitytype
  • Light_CSM, [modules:/zlightentity.class].pc_entitytype
  • RenderAtmosphericScattering, [modules:/zrenderatmosphericscatteringentity.class].pc_entitytype
  • Outside, [modules:/zrenderpostfilterparametersentity.class].pc_entitytype
  • TimeOfDayConfig, [modules:/ztimeofdayconfig.class].pc_entitytype

I tested a few dozen maps with varying time of day settings from other maps, but suffice to say there were too many to test before releasing :slight_smile:

I’m not promising every map’s time of day settings applied to a given other map might look good, great, etc, or even that it will be free from ‘oddities’, but that just makes it all the more fun.

Patient Zero, Hokkaido would’ve been perfect with this when anyone got infected. Or maybe after so many minutes… Given that it takes 47 some time before it “kills” him. Or maybe 47 is more resilient while all the other NPCs aren’t.

Zombie can atack 47 ?

I need to know tho, those clouds, are they custom? Or are they from another location from the game? I don’t know of the top of my head, but I can’t believe they are the standart haven ones.

Hantu Port!

It’s a shame that it’s a sniper mission so it goes unloved, but it’s actually one of the prettier/more detailed maps in the whole game. It has one of my favorite skyboxes in-game as well.
