Joe lobotomized the wrong Kennedy.
Look, I’ve been pretty vocal that I despise Musk, Kennedy and Gabbard, but I think their sole shared redeeming quality is that they’re environmentalists.
Obviously I don’t trust these three as far as I can throw them, especially not Musk, but they could have actually done some good if put in the right position, or at least not be completely awful. Kennedy or Gabbard might have been decent EPA Administrators and Musk could have been Secretary of Energy.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached in a second impeachment vote. The Assembly voted 204-85 receiving the 2/3 required. Now his impeachment goes to the Constitutional Courts. The court will make a verdict. If they agree with the Assembly then Yoon Suk Yeol will be removed from office and a new Presidential election will be organized in 60 days.
EDIT: Until the impeachment trial at the Constitutional Courts Yoon is suspended from his duties. Prime Minister Han Deok-su will become the interim chief executive.

Old story, but this was always kind of a pet case of mine and I just found out that nearly 100 years later they’ve begun efforts to identify victims. DNA testing can take a while, so I’m not surprised that there aren’t further updates yet. But I hope to see more on this in the near future.

Local authorities said Sunday that the likely death toll from cyclone Chido’s passage across Mayotte was “definitely several hundred” though the disruption means reaching an exact count will be difficult.
Rescue workers and supplies are being rushed in by air and sea, but their efforts are likely to be hindered by damage to airports and electricity distribution in a territory where even clean drinking water was already subject to chronic shortages.
A previous toll shared with AFP by a security source had confirmed only 14 deaths.
“I think there will definitely be several hundred, perhaps we will come close to a thousand or even several thousand” deaths, prefect Francois-Xavier Bieuville said on broadcaster Mayotte la Premiere.

End of the Pellicot trial in France.
It became, with good reasons, a cause celebre and a symbol of feminist struggle.
Including Dominique Pelicot, all 51 defendants in the case were convicted by the court with no acquittals.
- The husband was found guilty and given the maximum sentence of 20 years.
- The 51 other accused were also found guilty and sentenced. From 3 to 15 years.
Campaigners against sexual violence are hoping for exemplary prison terms and view the trial as a possible turning point in the fight against rape culture and the use of drugs to subdue victims.
Gisèle Pelicot’s courage in waiving her right to anonymity as a survivor of sexual abuse and successfully pushing for the hearings and shocking evidence – including videos – to be heard in open court have fueled conversations both on a national level in France and among families, couples and groups of friends about how to better protect women and the role that men can play in pursuing that goal.
“Men are starting to talk to women – their girlfriends, mothers and friends – in ways they hadn’t before,” said Fanny Foures, 48, who joined other women from the feminist group Les Amazones in gluing messages of support for Gisèle Pelicot on walls around Avignon before the verdict.

House Speaker Mike Johnson.
The pointy thing behind him is the blade that Trump will stab him in the back with.
The silver lining to Johnson being forced out is that he’ll have plenty of time for his hobbies. If Mike wants to continue leering at fit men in tight shorts, I have a game suggestion for him.
And I know that the Disruptor has been pulled, but I’m sure Johnson will find a way to revive it. He has experience bringing back rapist thugs.

I think we can safely say that the Democratic nominee in 2028 would be a man. The question is whether they’ll pick a female running mate. I know women on presidential tickets are relatively new, but Biden won with Harris by his side. Even after her loss, I don’t think Democrats want to be seen as abandoning female candidates.

Hard to say since the primary just decides the candidate and then the candidate picks whoever they want as a running mate. It’s a bit of a silly system, but we have lots of silly systems
