Is this a bad hmmm? Nuclear energy, though not perfect, is pretty clean.
It would also help stopping some European countries’ reliance on Russian gas.

Furthermore that statement also came from his PR representative so I am taking it with a grain of salt.
Not only that but he also threatened to withdraw 65 million dollars of investments in the area as well and that strikes me as blatantly undemocratic and extremely NIMBY-ish. I wouldn’t tolerate that shit from a member of parliament and I don’t tolerate it in from a member of the council no matter how famous or rich you are.
I think reason Dave said it and the reason the rest of Yellow Springs residents agreed was because affordable housing developments would cause their precious property values to take a hit. Oberer is still building their sub-development but they are only building the originally planned high income housing so they certainly don’t mind “cookie cutter sprawl style development” as per the PR’s words.
Not that it matters, shooting down affordable housing is a bad look no matter what reasons you have especially with a broad rise in homelessness. You can’t argue against affordable housing without sounding like a NIMBY.

Just thinking if building nuclear plants while facing down a possible war with Russia is a good thing. I certainly know why France is doing it, they want to stop rely on natural gas exports from Russia which is good.
I have no objections to France building and relying on nuclear energy. France has consistently shown they can safely rely on the building and use of nuclear plants. I just would like to see nuclear being used more as a stop gap until France can rely on more safe renewables.

The shooter in that fedex case has only been charged with assault. Which makes no sense. Up in civilianisation every round that leaves the barrel of your gun is, by law, an attempted murder. I guess in Mississippi that’s not the case. That said, with the media attention I’m sure the charges will be upgraded.
Actually from what I read it wasn’t even assault it was a felonious attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with a firearm and a deadly weapon. Gregory was hit with a felonious conspiracy to cause aggravated assault
