Heyyy check it out, the old folks at Bethesda are bringing their most recent snooze-fest slightly closer to where it should have been at launch.

The only legitimate criticism today (that is not expressed by the majority of the negative reviews) I see here is that apparently you canā€™t make a PSN account in every country. Because the day you could preorder it, it said it will require a PSN account.

Not sure if itā€™s true or not but Iā€™ve read that you also need a photo of your face to make the account and that might rub people the wrong way.

Right, that is why I would not make a PSN account. If that is a requirement in Germany as well, idk. PSN was hacked often enough that people should think twice using it. I am glad Forbidden West does not require it, since I plan to get that with a new PC.

So, too bad for those who did not know this stuff when they bought the game. But yeah, the information are right there since the beginning.

Interesting, they almost managed to smartly avoid shutting anyone from the European Union.
Expect the French.

No idea if itā€™s from Steam or directly Sony, but this doesnā€™t look good.

Lol, Japan?! Isnā€™t Sony from Japan?

Oh those poor, poor, inbred Pitcairn Islanders. They will never get to know the joys of managed democracy.

My heart also goes out to the people of (Unknown Country Code: XD) (And FX)

Oh and the Pope, the Pope also canā€™t play Helldivers 2 though I hear he is more of a Crusader Kings III kind of guy.

Why to even ruin goodwill at all to begin with? Iā€™m baffled for how Sony blew up their leg in this one.

Iā€™m honestly shocked they rolled over that quickly, posting an update on their american account in the middle of the night!

I would have expected them to just wait it out, have people give in (because thereā€™s a good number that inevitably would)

But man, I guess all the optics on this and potential bad press really had the Executives scared (as well as some good discussions with the devs I think)
The CEO has been stellar with being transparent about when discussions about the account linking took place, and how the devs foresaw there would be backlash, especially after needing it disabled at launch from server strainā€¦

Honestly I think the issue was a little bit overblown, with some people maybe bandwagoning the hate just because itā€™s Sony, or annoyances about 3rd-party accounts (its definitely not new)
But yeah, Playstation and Sony have had veeery rocky histories with data breaches, so their statement is laughable. And even having the game sold in countries on steam that donā€™t have dedicated PSN support is super strange.v

Outside hate bandwagoon, the truly horrendous thing that happened and with no excuse was selling a product in regions that would eventually be restricted out of access for something the clients payed for.

That has no defense nor any logic behind why to even sell the game in places where PSN isnā€™t present if they were planning to attempt this at all. In fact, selling H2 in a single region that doesnā€™t has PSN was the call to forget the plans as a whole.
