Freelancer - General Discussion

The Concrete Bunny pistol.

The final item I need to advance to prestige level 4.

I haven’t found it at any supplier and made sure to leave 3 freelancer tools in the game to keep the supplier inventory open.

Hope it populates.

I hate this bug

Pretty sure you don’t need the DLC items for prestige

It’s needed. Because after I finally got it 5 missions later it finally was at a supplier, the gear laptop turned on for next level.

Huh I guess I misremembered about not needing them if you don’t own the packs… Think I have only prestiged a couple times tbf, so good to know that.

You didn’t. The DLC weapons aren’t necessary to prestige. I’ve done it a few times without all of them.

They do end up clogging the vendors, though, so it’s usually helpful to buy at least some/most of them.

That is pretty damn cool.

I really hope something like this happens one day!! :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s definitely stick drifting and it can make the game downright unplayable (I’ve lost two gamepads to that plague in a couple of years). You can lessen the problem by augmenting the “dead zone” around the center of the stick (I dunno how you’d do that on Xbox but there are probably some controller configuration settings somewhere). It will, however, only delay the inevitable and that gamepad will end up messing with your controls forever if you keep using it.

I’d suggest getting a Hall Effect gamepad (they’re supposed to be very resilient to that specific issue).

I know many have completed freelancer

But wanted to see where everyone was at I’m

Assassinations 40/41. 276/500 leaders is all I have left

Discovery 6/6

Features 54/57 Prestige Level 5, 7, 10

That’s all I have left

I achieved everything but top dog within around half a year. Beat top dog in about another 6 months.

Now I just prestige for shits and giggles while playing only Hardcore Mode. Despite having nothing left to unlock or achieve, it does scratch a certain kind of itch.

Some mutators that you can burn Merces on once you’ve reached the end-game would be welcome; dead-drops, paying for a starting location (pay extra to be pre-disguised), paying to swap a map for a different one.

@Kevin_Rudd deserves a shout-out for FV though, definitely breathed a new lease of life into it.

My final wish would be for IOI to re-imagine Colorado as a location that isn’t entirely hostile territory. I only play it when I feel particularly masochistic these days, Hardcore is engaging enough.

Far away from you…
I’ve only prestiged three times (I’ve completed my armory panels one week ago on 3rd prestige). Will take a rest about prestige for several weeks.
Still on GOAT challenge (1930/2500) and 251/500 leaders.
Only finished 41 campaigns.

Not a race for me. I take my time and play Hitman when I want.

Check this out, I’ve created something similar

I’ve comeback to Freelancer after a long break and I’m loving play it, slow but steady progress.

But I’ve noticed one frustrating thing - I’m trying to complete Prestigue Level II, but it’s hard to do since I’m missing few core weapons, but Smugglers allow me to buy ONLY DLC gear, even if there is a space for more.

This make things much harder to complete since, these DLC weapons are quite expensive. The more I have DLC the more gear I must buy. This is a bug or a feature on purpose?

If so… The conclusion is not to buy further DLC, because it makes the matter much more demanding.

IIRC if you disable those two DLCs (if you’re playing on Steam just uncheck them in the list, dunno how it’s done on Epic) the vendors will stop selling them so you can activate prestige faster.

I’ve done what you said… but that makes things even worst…

First of all - I’ve deactived every DLC with items from Premium ETs, that didnt maked that new items appeared.

But allows me to buy a Streets Art Pack which I’ve already collected.

And when I’ve enabled these DLC once again, weird thing showed up. Some of items are back, but all others which I had before (marked by red line) - just gone. Which means - I need to collect them once again.

Other thing is what I’ve noticed - that games promote to buy DLC items instead of regular one. Untill you don’t but them all - core game gear don’t show up :frowning:

Something is fucked up with this.

The vendors still sold Street / Makeshift weapons despite those DLCs being disabled?

(I actually haven’t disabled any DLC during prestige, as I don’t own the Street / Makeshift stuff and already reached prestige 15 before the new wall with the ET items was added, so I’m not speaking from experience, just repeating what I read somewhere on the forum :x )

(I also dunno why you get the grenade / band / tape from the ET wall unlocked by default without having to buy them :x )

I’ve just replied to you in your other thread as well @Shade. You also want to post that in this main thread as well to get more eyes onto it!! :eyes:

Every time when I need to push that button - it’s hurts… but it give a new motivation to make another and another run. Sadly at this point it’s only one real motivation to do that because - there isn’t much left to do beside that. And this is main complain about Freelancer. I’m mostly driven by makeing Challenges, which gives me an motivation and goal to achive, but… according to some of Achivements it’s looks like im not even in half of the way - even if the Player Profile statistics show’s me im 91%. It’s a loong way to manage everything. And i’m not sure if i really want to do that.

There should be more chalenges which can be done on the way. Now everything which left is just mindless grind… meh. From beginning I’ve said that these achivements with Kills/Camaigns are riddiclous and badly caluclated. I admire those who have achieved this, but at the same time I don’t really understand why… at this stage it just seems boring.

But…

I just wanted to share my achievement – surely some of you have reached this long ago, but I’m happy that despite having numerous different passions and a lack of time, I managed to accomplish SO MUCH. Admittedly, the progress was spread out over a long period, with several breaks and returns after extended pauses from the game – but it was all to avoid burning out, to keep enjoying the game rather than grinding for the sake of winning golden pants.

Challenges progress:
Safehouse: 91%
Assassination: 39/41
Discovery: 6/6
Feats: 52/67

I’m about to manage in this attempt:
Eliminate Syndicate Leaders with a Fiber Wire 13/25
Strangle Syndicate Leaders wearing a Neclace 9/10

Things which left me to complete for other time
Eliminate Syndicate Members: 1364/2500
Eliminate Syndicate Leaders: 139/500
Complete campaigns: 26/100
Presige Level: 3/10

@IOI I really hope you’ll give us a new large expansion for Freelancer. This games deserve that - even if we need to pay for that kind of DLC, i’ll do it with a pleasure.

But… It annoys me that every time I buy another Elusive Target DLC that adds new weapons to Freelancer, I have to play significantly more to collect all the weapons and progress to the next Prestige Level. Especially since the items from these DLCs are incredibly EXPENSIVE. I think it’s extremely poorly thought out and forces you to disable the DLC on Steam, which completely kills their purpose of having them.

I understand. Fortunately, I reached prestige level 10 before the DLCs were introduced, which increased the number of weapons to collect and made progressing from one level to another longer and more tedious. That would have been much more frustrating for me.

I also agree with what you’re saying. Once the challenges were completed, I had no motivation left to keep playing Freelancer mode. I haven’t touched it since September, and I have no intention of going back to it.

Btw - you have an image in avatar from Hitman Asylum, a website which I’ve managed over 18 years  (you probably taken from Hitman Wiki, but they ask me about permission to use assets). Sweet good old days.

Yes, i took it from there. I choose Mikhail Bardachenko because he has my same name in another language. Mine is italian
