Mendoza, Dartmoor and Whittleton Creek are my go to in Freelancer
Happy cake day Heisenberg!
Damn, it is that day, isnât it? My three-year anniversary. I guess this is the start of my Year 4.
Did they get rid of the Stock Market thingy/interaction? The computer in my vault is no longer interactable. Or is this a bug?
My limited experience (I have only played / used the Stock Market three times) is that the Stock Market computer can only be accessed when you have a territory / destination âbookedâ (i.e., HUD shows âPrepare and travel toâ with a destination in upper left corner); that was my 15 August experience in Normal Mode.
I could not get any interaction prompt with an existing campaign, but no syndicate chosen nor after syndicate chosen but no destination yet chosen (i.e., âbookedâ).
It seems strangely particularâŚ
The few videos I found on YouTube in August when I could not figure out how to âactivateâ the Stock Market were all from 2023, and every one of them shows the player in an active campaign, but no booked destination; same as you.
Best regards.
Ah all right. That never occurred to me. Iâll check that tonight.
I normally only try the Stock Market when I finish a mission and return to the Safehouse. Havenât had any issues with it so far, but I will double check when Iâm next playing.
@htmn Is right. You have to have a destination selected for the computer to be accessible. Which is a bit strange, but I guess thatâs just how it works. Thanks for the tip on that one.
Just started my 100th campaign (not counting the failed ones ) and switched to hardcore for the occasion.
Got into a shootout on the first showdown when going for optional objectives after already having eliminated the leader and barely survived . Have been missing that feeling of risk while grinding challenges on normal mode and think Iâll stick with hardcore afterward!
For Hardcore, if youâve got Prestige objectives like âHeadshot Kill - Legendaryâ or âMelee Kill - EPICâ, youâve cracked it, but objectives like âSilent Assassin Suit Onlyâ & âTimed Disguisesâ etc can be rather difficult
Oh yeah, Iâm avoiding any SA ones like the plague. The timed ones are usually okay and not too stressful.
I played a bit of Hardcore before to get the challenge and suit. I donât remember if I finished a HC campaign genuinely (without Alt+F4) though. Am at the third syndicate now and have been able to resist the temptation in 2 or 3 sticky situations.
Learned to avoid Bangkok (the modded variation with Elusive Targets has a lot of additional guards).
Timed are the worst ones by far for me (in fact I disabled them with a mod). SA is usually ok and I actually really enjoy SA No Firearms because it forces me to play differently and not rely on the dart guns.
I found one other case where the Stock Market button is active: if you are in an active campaign, finished a syndicate and have not yet chosen another syndicate.
Remembering your question, I checked today after completing penultimate syndicate, but had not yet chosen final syndicate.
The conditions for the Stock Market button seem to have been altered for the worse since release. Who would play the Stock Market after booking their trip?
I can imagine players choosing to activate the Stock Market between syndicates within a campaign, but also after completing a territory and, wanting a bit more money to buy something, going to the Stock Market to try their luck.
Best regards.
Did they add a new tell? I saw something new which looked like they were Sweating/Nervous. Never saw that icon before and never saw that animation before.
Iâm fairly certain it has been there from the beginning. It might be rarer than the others and/or it might be less noticeable since it does not involve an interaction with a food/drink/book item.
Yeah thatâs the âanxiousâ tell. Itâs been there from the start, but it does seem to occur less frequently than the others.
Geez. Iâve never seen that one before. Lol
Make you feel kinda⌠nervous?
lame joke even by my standards
Itâs definitely been there from the start, but like others have said, it doesnât occur as frequently as the others. Although unlikely, but imagine if part of the next patch/update, IOI add in loads of new tells for syndicate leaders? That would be pretty cool
