such a pain in the ass that arrange meeting problem
I had far less problems with Perfect Run when it was (I suppose accidentally) enabled in 3.180 than Arrange Meeting, which has been sketchy since inception.
Actually, I had no problems with Perfect Run in 3.180, come to think of it.
I think that one and the âPerfect Runâ prestige objectives are the most bugged ones. I donât know if the Perfect run objective will ever return to be fair? I know for a fact itâs not in the Series X/S cycle, but not sure about PlayStation and PC?
Perfect Run returned to PC in 3.180 but wasnât announced in the patch notes. When 3.190 came out (the current version, as of the time of writing), it once again was removed, again without any notes acknowledging the fact that it (perhaps erroneously) appeared in 3.180, nor that it had been re-removed.
I just finished Freelancer Mode. I got the last challenges: 100 campaigns and 500 leaders. I used a cheat, but I donât care. Thank you so much @thrison
I reached Mastery Level 100 in Freelancer last week and feel like sharing some personal stats.
Context: My main Hitman account is on PS4, which has slow load times and is in a part of my house I donât use as much. My alt Hitman account, bought/started years later, is on Xbox Series S. That is the console where I do most of my gaming, but Hitman there is a âjust for fun and just for ETsâ game and not one where I work towards unlocks and mastery. Still, I am in the 80-something Freelancer mastery on that account.
So I reached Level 100 on my PS4 account (the one with slow load times). Since then, I have completed one campaign. Here are some relevant and interesting numbers which we as a community like to observe:
22 Campaigns completed
Prestige Level 3
GOAT (Eliminate Syndicate Members): 1269/2500
Employee of the Year (500 Leaders): 141/500
Head Over Heels (Push 10 Leaders): 4/10
Natural Selection: 2/10
Donât Lick Me (25 Leaders with Poison): 9/25
Bullseye (25 Leaders): 9/25
Way of the Samurai (47 Members or Leaders): 28/47
High In Fiber (Leaders): 7/25
Strelok: 38/100
Pills Here (10 Members or Leaders with Pills): 1/10
Necklace To Die For (Leaders wearing necklaces): 4/10
Mai Pen Rai (50 Members or Leaders in Bangkok): 49/50
I was never on board with the sentiment that the last 10 or so mastery levels took too long and something had to be done. Theyâre supposed to take long. And this complaint was coming from a small cohort whoâd blasted through all but a few of the challenges.
But Iâve got a little more challenge XP to collect here, and havenât even completed many basic assassination ones, and playing somewhat consistently but not religiously for a year, year and a half⌠I feel like this is fair. I feel like the âgrindâ to 100 was fair. It took a long time but Iâm okay with that.
So this is what progression looks like for a more conservative playthrough, if by conservative you mean that you need to play this game a helluva lot and spend hundreds of hours (give or take long load times) Freelancing.
Do I post Freelancer bugs in the 3.190 update thread?
Yesterday, I had 4 suspects. 2 of them (men) each met with 1 suspect (woman), and the men never met with each other. The woman had 2 tells not matching the leader criteria. 1 of the meeting suspects was missing a physical appearance characteristic and 1 non-matching tell.
The two likely suspects (had physical appearance characteristics) both were bugged:
- suspect A met with the woman suspect one time then got âstuckâ in Foodie animation permanently (i.e., >30 minutes), and never moved to 2nd tell; and
- suspect B never met with anyone; he had the 2 tells and physical characteristics, but no meeting.
I waited, bumping into Foodie-stuck man as well as the non-people surrouding him (bumped a guard once as well) and the no-meeting man, using Sieker on the likely suspects⌠The Foodie-stuck man showed the feeling-ill animation, but remained standing in the Foodie spot while the other man went to vomit then returned to his routine of no meeting.
Then I subdued the woman and suspect C (3rd man missing physical appearance characteristic), but still no change to the other two suspects.
Finally, I gave up and cheated, disconnecting my game so 47 was time-warped to the safehouse with the showdown remaining to play. Re-starting, I went directly to the suspects first (initial attempt, I quietly opened the safe and quietly subdued the courier then went to the suspects), and the man whom I believed to be the target (no meeting man) was in Instinct having a meeting (hurrah!) with the woman. I could not reach the area in time to see meeting type. Foodie-stuck man met with the woman next, but then became Foodie-stuck again, not showing 2nd tell. 3rd suspect (man) and the woman remained functioning correctly as no-meeting man reverted to no meetings. The woman eventually became stuck at meeting spot, waiting for Foodie-stuck to arrive for a meeting; this may also be why no-meeting man has no further meetings (although itâs strange because the 3rd suspect had 4 meetings with the woman before she began waiting for Foodie-stuck).
I have only one mod (Hitman 2016 UI Conversion, specifically enabling Legacy Intros only), which I have had before starting Freelancer, and Iâve successfully played several showdowns previously.
Best regards.
PS: Iâll delete this post and re-post to the correct thread when informed.
I just had this ridiculous combo of objectives which would probably have enraged @Heisenberg
Single target on Dubai, the other 2 objectives were specific weapon kills so I went with the timed one despite it potentially conflicting with âdo not pacifyâ. I took a newspaper and a shank just to be safe but I spawned pretty close to the target so it actually wasnât that hard (It could even have been done SASO but I killed a guard to get his disguise and loot a few crates, and some guy on the way to the target that I could have just avoided).
Yeah, in a case like that, I wouldnât have bothered with a prestige objective. Too much interference with the others.
For example, new Items, new Skins, Weapons, choosing Briefcases etc. ?
Are they going to fix the Perfect Run and Telephone Meeting bug ?
I will also pay for that with buying the next Packs of course.
I think with adding more Content to Freelancer for example Gun customizations, Leveling up weapons, Skills (faster estrangular for example or lockpicking, using syringes faster) after readjusting the skills. etc.
This mode can be a Goldmine for IOI because itâs unique on the market currently imo.
Thanks for this mode. Itâs awesome.
Itâs unclear, but I hope they do. Personally my biggest wish is for them to add the various map variants, from the Gluttony Chongqing to the 2016 bonus missions. Even if theyâre only added to the Deluxe version of the game, itâd be nice to enter a map and not know exactly which version it is going to be. Considering NPCs are largely the same in each map, it should be feasible enough. It would also be nice if they managed to make the passenger train mod official so that could be thrown into the mix too.
New weapons and objectives would definitely also be welcome, to help mix things up a bit. I find that the objectives currently available are pretty limited so having some extra ones would be nice.
Freelancer is definitely my favourite part of WoA, which is why Iâm sad that theyâve not really added anything to it since launch.
Yeah the biggest thing they can do is make freelancer variations official imo and I hope that happens for console players to experience it too.
Adding in missing weapons and tools makes sense and wouldnât probably be much work (again already done in part by modders).
We will almost certainly get some new content in dlc packs (the dropâs upcoming one for example).
This sort of stuff is 99.99% not going to happen as it would be way to much work for them basically remaking a lot of the gameâs systems.
On the spirit of your question: we donât know. But itâs looking more like a no than like a yes.
There are new Safehouse cosmetics that will arrive next month with the Drop DLC.
The same way some others did with the Undying and the Disruptor DLCs.
And is possible that seasonal cosmetics will also be added too. We know that they exists since the start of the mode, having been seen in the pre-release trailers. They are frequently asked on the forum, and itâs been transmitted to the the dev team.
For gameplay additions. Itâs a resolute âwe donât knowâ.
New Items, new interactions, new syndicate types, new safehouse pickups. Maybe?
Variations of the tested systems are possible enough, but itâs the most I would expect. And I donât.
Gun customization, levelling them, skills are too much of an overhaul of the game to be reasonable expectation. They are not technical possibilities. And personally I donât want any of them. Not this kind of game.
There is nothing indicating that anything like this is coming. I will say no is much more probable than yes.
Mid purposeful additions like choosing briefcase skin, buying a way to start undercover, bribing down an alerted territory, phones in safes/shops⌠would be fun and technically possible.
And would expand the game mode longevity in the end game.
Merces are useless after a bit after all, so adding to the central to the mode economy system would make sense design wise.
But I also donât see them. Itâs not the direction IOI shows for its current maintenance of the game.
But we have been surprised before.
Bugged objectives to return might be reasonable though.
Maybe in the next game
As for new items and cosmetics, like @LandirtHome had pointed out, there is new items and cosmetics coming to the Freelancer Safehouse as part of the Autumn (The Drop) roadmap. These will be DLC items, exactly like what happened with the previous two roadmaps.
There is also going to be a further patch for the game, which is going to bring new additions to the game, although we donât know where this is going to be aimed, letâs hope Freelancer gets some of this. There will also be bug fixes, so hopefully these will fix some of the issues reported in Freelancer.
Iâm with you as well on the Briefcase choosing. It would be really cool to have 47 equip his Briefcase in the basement of the Safehouse and then pack his weapons into it from the Weapon glass wall
Well, I suppose it has got a lot of attention over the last new months with new items and cosmetics for the Safehouse as part of the last two roadmaps. Plus, weâve got The Drop DLC coming where weâll be getting more Safehouse items I would like to see new additions added to Freelancer though as well, like new additions to weapon crates, bug fixes, briefcase pick in the Safehouse etc.
^^^^ THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN! ^^^^
I donât want to be mistaken for a naysayer, because I absolutely agree that any ready-to-go cosmetics should be released.
however, once youâve seen a cosmetic, the novelty wears off pretty quickly. I donât know about yâall, but I donât spend much of my time marvelling at the safehouse.
New gameplay mechanics on the other hand are the gift that keeps on giving.
Introduce bonus side-quests.
let me spend my merces on agency drops and/or starting locations.
Make Hawkes Bay a playable map - itâs already available as a mod anyway.
If any of these things feel like they alter the balance of Freelancer, gate them behind some sort of progression requirement - maybe thatâs as extreme as requiring 100%ing all challenges, whatever you feel, but fundamentally, there comes a point where it doesnât matter if you change up the balance for a player because theyâve done everything already.
I do like my Undying Pack cosmetics (as well as the weapons), in fact my only issue is that theyâre not related to Faba, it feels more like an expo for Kronstadt.
The game already has a lot going on as-is. Weâre veering in to feature creep here and a hellish HUD that will be impossible to make sense of.
Hawkes Bay is just really small, and unless they want to make some serious changes to it, it wouldnât make sense. It being a mod does not mean it should be officially added.
This is a really good way of at least mitigating the Merces Economy issues, so Iâd be all for that.
Thatâs pretty much why I donât play Freelancer.
We could always throw out âbalanceâ altogether and just focus on enjoying the game.
Considering my main problems with freelancer directly relate to balance decisions screwing up the otherwise fairly good longevity of the mode, Itâs not really an option to consider.
