Freelancer - General Discussion

Just had some kind of illumination today when playing an Espionage syndicate.

I had SA no firearms as a prestige objective, along with a couple of other restrictive stuff like no KOs among the regular ones that reduced my options a lot. At first I thought about bringing one of the dart guns “just in case”, to have a weapon to place somewhere if I needed to lure a guard away. Then I realized I could just bring one of these shitty Bartolis instead, since it’s not like it’s gonna be hard to replace if a guard stashes it somewhere I wouldn’t be able to reach.

So for the first time I took a Bartoli in my loadout… and I’ll probably do it again if something similar happens in the future (even though I didn’t lose it in the end).

I have a lot of money and all the items and weapons collected (except for that outstanding coin or what they call it). Suppliers got nothing to offer.
What can I spend my money on now?

Prestige and do it again.

Do what I do and die from time to time.

But that’s inevitable

Or… die losing, what was it half million merces? And nail that challenge I cant remember the name of.

ioi needs to implement a brothel and drugs into the WOA so 47 can spend all that extra money on hookers and cocaine!

Not to use himself, mind you, but to lure in the scumbags who would use them, send the footage to their spouses and significant others (or bishops for the priests who would show up), and let them know what it will cost to rectify the situation. Gotta spend money to make money.

I’d like it better if 47 did use them himself :joy:

Pretty sure 47 wouldn’t be caught doing hookers and blow if it was the last contract on earth.

No contract. R & R.

Nothing helps relaxation after spreading fear throughout the syndicate like hookers and blow.

Maybe for normal humans. 47 relaxes by meditating, chopping wood, cooking, painting, playing drums and piano, sharpening knives, distilling poisons, and target shooting.

doing anything. The guy only ever gets caught when Diana wants him to get caught.

Did you read that, Rupert Friend?!

I know you’re not looking for a serious answer, but I did discuss this on another thread where Merces become useless the more you play, and without any kind of money sink, they just… pile up over time.

I think there’s a trophy for accumulating 1 million Merces, but that seems…strange to encourage.

Hell, I’ve known about this issue since May-June of last year:

Best thing I can think of is just to play the stock market and enjoy putting 47 in ridiculous costumes.
I’m not even at 300K Merces, and that’s what I do =P

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, IOI needs to add three more weapon glass cabinets so we can fill in the space in 47’s basement. We can use our hard earned merces to buy the Ducky Sniper, the Floral Baller, the Trinity Weapons and other items that currently aren’t available for Freelancer

I mean just look at that space waiting to be taken…………

I say let’s move the shurikens etc… to that wall and free the glass wall on 47’s left for the even better stuff :star_struck:

In an attempt for a new challenge, I went into an Alerted NY Showdown, and wanted to see if the Noir Easter Egg worked… and it does! Sadly after pulling it off, I then had to embark on the journey to the Target on the top floor.

Here’s the last 3 minutes that went pretty smooth.

Well, I’ve been able to recover the situation enough to finish my goals. First syndicate in my new campaign has a leader in Haven that is dehydrated, so getting him to drink the frog poison found on the island will help me finish the two poison challenges. He’s able to be hit with an emetic dart up in the gym and walk down to the bathroom in less than two minutes, allowing me to finish the prestige objective that I did a trial run on, so I’ll be able to finish it properly when I do it for the final time and move on, but until then, I can have him walk right into the range of a proximity explosive duck and complete that challenge, and fiber wire him over and over, completing those two challenges.

So long as I don’t screw up like yesterday, I should be able to do this no problem, then finish the campaign with the last three syndicate trophies, and then all that’s left is the sniper challenge requiring one hundred headshots and I’m already in the thirties, the cold feet challenge, the sometimes good/shit challenge, the X amount of members/Leaders/campaigns challenges, and the prestige challenges. They’re going away fast.

Can anyone who’s done the cold feet challenge tell me if leaving before killing all targets takes away your tools like losing the campaign does? And can you leave without killing any targets at all and still have it count?
