Freelancer - General Discussion

I’m currently voluntarily failing Freelancer missions in order to unlock “Cold Feet” and “Sometimes maybe good. SMS” challenges.

Very awkward way to play Hitman Freelancer :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

At this point, I would make only 3 fundamental changes to Freelancer: give us access to all weapons, give us access to all suits, and make objectives selectively optional or do away with them altogether.

It was Organ Trafficking. It was the second showdown of the campaign I believe.

A little tip for the SMS challenge. If you blow yourself up with a remote explosive but alt+f4 right as the screen turns grey, you’ll get a point towards the challenge, but the game doesn’t consider you to have actually failed. You can just repeatedly ‘fail’ the same showdown over and over to grind out the challenge without having to redo the other contracts. The timing is a bit tricky though.

Which suits are missing?

Most likely he’s referring to the tactical turtleneck with gloves and the Colorado suit without hat.

That one hasn’t even been released yet, but yes, please get to it;

More specifically, all of the location default outfits. When Freelancer was announced, while I knew we’d have to build up our supplies again, I at least expected we’d have access to everything we have in the main game. It is hugely disappointing that Freelancer’s wardrobe mechanic does not let us access the default suit for a particular map, at least if you’ve selected a map before changing. With that said, I’m just going whole hog and requesting IOI release all default suits for playability at all times as well.

Agree, feels so wrong to have to play badly to achieve a challenge. I think that a challenge should be positive and not negative like these

Only targets that have been in an “accident” can be found. If someone slips and it is found, your SA disappears

I look forward to playing more Freelancer. I put in 8 hours and realized that it is a game that needs a patch and balancing. I haven’t tried hardcore mode, but from the discussions, it is likely to be tweaked somewhat.

Since IOI has no future new Hitman content on the horizon, I am going to wait for the first post-Freelancer launch patch. When is a new patch on the horizon? Anyone?

Currently, I’m on a Showdown… One mission objective is to snipe guards,

The prestigious objective I’ve chosen is (to perform) a melee kill with a legendary/epic item. I have an ornate katana.

My question is - once I depart - how will I take both items that are usually taken in briefcases?

Or will it even let me? My item (count) is 9/10.

Maybe I’ll see if a supplier has a sniper rifle I can buy on-site.

Oh, and it’s a final one (FYI).

The Katana cannot go back into the briefcase, you need to have it on your back or in your hand. The sniper can be whereever else you have space.

The weapon on your back will spawn in a briefcase and the other will be in your hands.

There should be a sound effect on the timer challenges for the last 10 seconds or so. I was very much near a container, but was busy doing something and forgot about the Hide and Seek objective, and it failed ffs.

Had to do a double-take when I saw this assassin wearing a cow print suit…

It’s the character models of two assassins overlapping.

I agree it’s disappointing we can’t wear the “default location-specific suits” on Freelancer.

I’m not saying I should be able to bring the Paris tuxedo anywhere, but if I’m doing Freelancer, and I have a mission queued up for Paris, I should be able to equip the tuxedo.

I just got Hitman 3 (I bought 2016 at launch, skipped Hitman 2) and I’m obviously missing all the ET suits, which are variants of the “default suits” you can bring into missions in Freelancer.

If you buy a sniper from supplier, your other weapon, katana, will be visible and probably illegal unless you’re in a guard uniform. So plan wisely.

Obligatory how appropriate, you fight like a cow.

I went into Miami carrying a sniper and a baseball bat once, and I got a message about how I was bringing 2 large weapons (which I ignored). I expected to drop the bat as soon as I spawned and pick it up later disguised as a guard.

When I spawned in the marina, 47 had the sniper on his back and the baseball bat in a briefcase, and I got instantly compromised lol
