This Argentina Netherlands game is insane. Both teams trying to play very physical which I can’t understand from Argentina. The Dutch have a huge size advantage.
The ref appears to be trying very hard to not send anyone off. The benches have cleared twice. Going to extra time now.

Argentina goes through with 4 penalty kicks made compared to 3 for the Dutch, and someone managed to get a yellow card during the shootout. I believe that makes 14 total for the game.
Edit: announcers saying 17 total yellows which is a World Cup record😂

Brazil shipped home. It was nothing if they weren’t playing against chroatians.
I mean anything can happen, and I didn’t much see their matches on the tournament, but they are obviously not among favorites for this championship or rating standings

I mean, sensation but not sensation. I’ve seen all of the Croatian games and they are certainly nowhere near as impressive as they were four years ago, playing somewhat “lazily” (but still playing all the way through). Even Japan was arguably the better team in the previous match. So I was expecting the Brazilians to pass this round rather easily. But they did nothing to deserve a win, so I’m glad for Croatia to make the semis.
Can’t speak much fur Brazil’s general form though, as I didn’t see any of their previous matches aside from the Korea game

I genuinely hope they make it. Fuck Argentina and their preconceived notion that they are entitled to win the tournament just because they have Messi. They suck without him and should be reminded of it every time the opportunity arises.

The group stage was kinda blah but the knockout phase of the tournament has been amazing. Morocco is up 1-0 at min 55 over Portugal. I’d love to see a France v Morocco final.

France-Morocco final won’t happen since they’re in the same leg and would face each other in the semis if they both win. That being said, if Morocco wins this, I hope they get squashed in the semis by France/England (and I say that as someone who normally never cheers for France). I am fucking tired and annoyed of their supporters booing and whistling the whole match whenever the opposing team is on the ball. Not to mention Portugal has been the better team in this match (score aside so far).

I absolutely do not want Morocco in the finals. They were fun to watch in the group stage, but their play in the knockouts is giving me 2004 Greece flashbacks (which is bad enough), made only worse by those fu*king fans. I assume the French will beat the English, in which case I want Mbappé to unleash all his power to crush all the Moroccan hopes and dreams and shut those cucks in the stands up.
Gimme a Croatia-France rematch in the finals with the Croats winning, even if they’re not the best team in the tournament, lol (was hoping for a Croatia-Portugal final, but obviously that’s not happening
