As much as I love Absolution, it really doesn’t shock me someone who loves Abs would love K&L
Well it was my first HItman game after all. And Kane and Lynch have been awesome. I played both in coop only. They are a blast as coop game.
I didn’t even know it was co op.
It was. The second one not so much, but the first was amazing. And still is. You often had two paths unique to each other, in quite alot of the maps. And some really cool moments, like when Lynch dreams that every npc is a guard, and Kane just sees Lynch murdering innocent civillians on the streets. Playing that in local coop was amazing, my sister kept telling me why I killed them all and I just said “THERE ARE SO MANY GUARDS DAMNIT”
Played a million years ago… Yeah, it’s really a mixed bag. Terrible cover mechanics for one thing. I just remember it being a mediocre tbh, a half step from being awful.
i like kane and lynch.
(on paper)
rarely do you have games with completely reprehensible and unlikeable main characters. that’s a brave move.
the multiplayer was great (on paper) and the second game’s aesthetic was genuinely awesome; such a strong look.
shame it was just a shooter with terrible mechanics. i expected the series to be more like how payday 2 played, essentially doing for heists what hitman did for assassination.
It’s usually a new thread for each roadmap, keep things nice and seperate
- Being able to bypass non-elimination targets on the second playtrough. You don’t need to remove the virus completely and still be able to lure De Santis down to the lab as all of the mission stories are working to some degree through the game modes (for example, you can still do everything as Helmut Kruger on Showstopper while playing Contacts). Just remove it as a mandatory objective. Same goes for clues and all those Data Cores and stuff.
- Fix the immersion breaking glitches. Those dancing boats, NPC’s walking through doors, clipping models (I was laughing so hard when I saw the soldier’s boots walking without the soldier in Marrakesh) were funny, but they need to be gone for good,
- Fix the challenges and trophies, please. A humble person can wish…
- Add the missing stuff back. Santa 47 can wait until Christmas Deluxe Escalation, but what about my Buccaneer outfit and Fishing Line fiberwire replacement? Can’t see why are they missing from H3. And they have added the Measuring Tape to the unlocks, so where’s my Fishing Line? Something fishy is going on. ICA Performance coins and older ET suits can belong to the new ET Mastery track. H3 is supposed to be a definitive pack and it’s almost done now, let it be complete.
- For the love of God, turn the “Return to the main menu” option at the end of a Featured (or any other) Contact into the “Return to the Contacts menu” or I will assassinate someone IRL. It’s treated like a separate game mode by the game, so why? Also, it desperately needs to group the already completed Featured Contacts at the very end of the menu, because everyone loves to endlessly scroll the menus, you know.
Or maybe someone can point out that I’m dumb and there is an option to return directly to the Contacts menu after completing a contact. - Make the Silent Assassin indicator near the mini-map turned on by default. I have learned about it through the countless hours of my own stupidity, but many new players can be saved from eternal frustration. Or ask about switching it on during the Tutorial, because it’s already done with Mission Stories.
- Map markers, pretty please? Or adding the points of interest? Coughs in Blood Money. People can forget where to find those pesky boat keys in Paris when it’s already 21 pretty detailed level in the game.
- Instinct fine tuning? Highlight illegal weapons somehow before picking them up while using the Instinct (at least on the Casual difficulty)? Same goes for the NPC routes. It was a thing in Absolution and it can be pretty useful to memorize the map on Casual before going all in. At least can the Mission Stories objectives stay on screen while using the Instinct?
- A list of all required disguises under the Chameleon challenge?
- Not a QoL, but I wish for a some kind of a Hideout (Blood Money-style) with the display of my stuff and the ability to test some weapons.
Fix the immersion breaking… you mean lack of native speakers? This is for me a big deal. None of bugs doesn’t matter, but when I hear american/british accents over all places its ruin my experience. None of bugs can’t do that no matter what.
Hitman players: “Hitman WoA is too easy!! It’s too forgiving and handholdy!!”
Also Hitman players:
I really don’t see how this is helpful in any way.
Agree with your other points tho.
I see that as a perception issue. It’s going beyond accents. For example, I can’t play Yakuza games with English dub no matter what, and I don’t even know Japanese. I can’t play AC with the original VO, because I became too attached to the actors of Russian localisation, and I hate Russian localisations.
So, I treat Hitman as if 47 knows the languages, so he hears everything as it is: Marrakesh vendors speak to him in English only because he knows the language, and so on.
So, one way is completely change the voiceover and do the untranslated lines accompanied with the subtitles, and the other way is to let them speak as they speak. There is a nice thread on Twitter by the Yakuza cast, which is somewhat relevant to my view. You can give it a read here, if you’re interested.
Just a suggestion of something that is a QoL change. Can help someone with limited capabilities or someone totally new to the series.
Map markers could be more usable if there were a map planning option before starting a mission. But that’s a long shot. The best way is just toggle those gimmicks in the options for those who really need it.
I’m hoping at some point in these monthly updates we might get the ability to turn off Diana/Grey’s talking during the mission.
Red is currently meaning “tagret (objective)”. If you suddenly mark illegal items in red, they seem like objectives, just like the Sapienza virus is marked in red. That would hurt the UI, not improve it. I think the at the prompt is the better solution here.
Fixed. I haven’t thought of that.
You changed it to items should be marked as illegal at pickup should be a thing, but it is like that already.
Then I must be dumb. Disregard that. My initial thought was to highlight them somehow while using the Instinct.
We’ve been begging for that for years, and yet IOI have consistently offered alternatives and avoided it. I don’t think it’s happening. Since they removed shoulder swapping because average players got confused, I can only imagine their thoughts on removing the hand-holding dialog, even if it is a menu option. They probably think people would disable it by accident, like swapping shoulders.
They are never going to remove the voice overs. Why would they? They are part of the story of the game (as much as many players don’t like them and don’t think they are). This is simply an option that will never be implemented.
