Elusive Target Arcade

Yeah, it’s year 2 content, but that’s gonna last throughout the year. After the current reactivation cycle, we may just get new ETs or legacy ones. The image says coming January 2022, but is still not specifically saying that it will be active then.

I think you guys are all correct, at least I hope you are, I’m just trying to prepare myself for disappointment if we’re not gonna have immediate access to it, which is a possibility.

My guess, ET Arcade won’t affect regular ET rotation.
I mean Elusive Targets will exist alongside with Arcade

Elusive Target Arcade menu from the stream

  • One try a day
  • Playlist of three targets
  • More complications as you go (like escalations)
  • Rewards for completions and challenges

In the two blurred out campaigns on the right, I can’t make out who the third targets are but The Revolutionary is with The Stowaway and The Appraiser is with The Politician. Nice to know those are coming back in 3, I never got a chance to do them in 2

I find interesting to see that the Ascensionist is here two time, granted at two different position in the escalation/playlist, so I would presume with different complications.

Looks cool. The one-try-a-day is fair enough. Not too punishing and maintains certain degree of keeping on your toes in the duration of the whole trial.

Will ET be permanently unlocked on there own with no complications once we’ve done them?

I just want them as little side missions

Since it wasn’t mentioned, I assume not.

Elusive Target Arcade
Release: January 20

Elusive Target Arcade is a brand new game mode that takes the Elusive Target concept to the next level, mixes up the formula and introduces new challenges and unlockable rewards – all whilst keeping the essence of what makes Elusive Targets exciting and interesting to play.

There are several significant chances to the mode here: Each Arcade Contract now tasks you with taking down consecutive Elusive Targets, one contract after the other. Each one must be completed to proceed to the next – and there are additional complications added to the contract as well.

If you fail an Arcade Contract at any point, there will be a 12-hour lockout before you can retry the contract again from the start. This lockout enables us to keep the high-stakes gameplay that is a hallmark of Elusive Targets, whilst also giving players a clear indication of when they are able to play a particular Elusive Target again.

Crucially, Arcade Contracts are permanent additions to HITMAN 3. Once we add one to the game, they won’t go away.

Our aims with this game mode are; to give players the chance to engage and play Elusive Target content more frequently, provide a new challenge for long-time players in the Elusive Target game mode, create a new type of recurring content that will reward players with desirable unlocks.

When HITMAN 3 – Year 2 begins on January 20, the Arcade will also be open with a total of 3 Arcade Contracts, each one with Elusive Targets from a specific game in the World of Assassination trilogy. As you can see in the screenshot, the Ellipses Arcade Contra ct has three targets from HITMAN 3. Two other Arcade Contracts will also be available on January 20 with targets from HITMAN 1 and HITMAN 2 respectively.

As we move through the year, more Arcade Contracts will be added to the Arcade. We can’t wait to see our players take on this new challenge!

I do like the idea but I don’t want complications added to them everytime I play I think for people who would there could be an option but I personally would just like them permanent little side missions without complications needed

So Elusive Target Arcade is… 3 Elusive Targets in a single contract with complications… not what I was expecting, but definitely pretty neat take on adding a challenge to something that already exists. One thing I will say, I love the logo representing Arcade Contracts. That’s all I’m going to say. I hope the rewards for completing these are worth the effort in doing the ones that I’ve already defeated once again with an extra challenge that can either help or hinder us players. At least they’re pernament and there’s a cooldown if we fail an Arcade Contract.

I was hoping to get all the Targets without restrictions, so this is a little disappointing, but still seems neat all the same.

They said you get the 12 hour cooldown if you fail, but I assume that as long as you succeed you have no lockout and can replay as much as you want?

This seems really good, at launch we’ll at least get one “new” legacy ET that hasn’t been ran in Hitman 3 yet since there’s only been The Politician and the Stowaway from Hitman 2. I hope that later on we can get contracts mixing ETs from 1, 2, and 3 together in a single campaign

In my opinion, since the time limit is only one day for these, I think it’s time for IO to remove restarts completely. Make it count.

Having played the Elusive Targets using some mods that I found, I can say that just playing them without restriction and without any sort of complications, stakes, or any other limit, it’s just like playing those special assignments over and over. Very little to go back to.

As much as I want the ability to retry some things, the arcade mode sounds like it might keep the targets at least somewhat fresh compared to just releasing them all for unlimited play.

Here’s a reward for completing one batch.
Silenced pistol with extended mag (semi-automatic or automatic).

I’m betting the other tracks in the announcement were blurred because they’re Hitman 2 content, and they didn’t want to tread on WB’s toes?

I do hope some of these Elusive tracks are a mix of Season 1-3 targets if you own all of them. So far it looks like it’s 3 per season in a batch, and Hitman 3 doesn’t have a lot to choose from.

Looks like DTI version of HWK 21 Covert, I believed I saw it somewhere in game files previously.

I think having an option to turn off restrictions is better than not at all

The blog post essentially says that the screenshot is just a mockup as next week we’ll get the “The Ellipses” Arcade contract, plus two others that have H1/H2 ETs. I guess they’ve just blurred the two H1/H2 ones for mystery building purposes.
