Elusive Target Arcade

That’s twice you’ve spelled it sex dictators and that’s twice it’s made me chuckle out loud😂

Ah. Now that makes sense.

Well I’ve got puns for a lot of targets’ names or titles in this game, but this one’s probably among the best

I like to refer to Steven Bradley and Tyson Williams as Oily Boy and Barnacle Dude. Yeah… Not puns, but… They give me a good chuckle.

What do you call Ljudmila Vetrova? Tan Bitch? I do.

I don’t really have a name for her… But that dress or whatever it is she wears reminds me of vertical blinds.

Ljudmila Venetian, then?

Has anyone tried poisoning Adeze with the blood mary yet? I can’t seem to get it to trigger despite meeting the “criteria” (disguise as waiter, wait for Adeze to finish conversation with Kalu, tend to the bar upstairs), she always walks pass or accepts the other waiters drink instead :sob:.

Am I alone in wishing that IO would bring the Arcade contracts back and start adding more of them in?

I’ve recently been playing through them again and have actually been having a good time of approaching the ETs in new ways - ways that I’ve never done them in the OG ET format or in the past when playing through the Arcade.

There’s still lots of complications that are already in the game in older escalations that could work well (ie doing an Arcade contract filled with dual target ETs and the Rapid Elimination complication), plus they didn’t exhaust all the possible combinations of ETs either as some only appeared one or two times (and The Deceivers never got an outing that wasn’t a restricted loadout).

It feels like there is still some juice left to squeeze out of it and I’ve made myself want more. Plus it would add a bit of variety back into the roadmaps, rather than a handful of OG ET format contracts, an FC batch and a new challenge/unlock - wish has started to feel quite stale now.

I think they would have if they didn’t feel the need to associate a new unlockable with each batch.

That and the complaints of not allowing freely selecting ETs.

I wonder if things would change in that favor whenever they end the yearly ET re-releases.

Yes, and no.
I moved on to Freelancer for my gameplay variation/complication fun.

I don’t mind the end of the arcade, because I think it fulfilled (most) of its purpose. Almost all ETs are available in it, in a streamlined way. And since they made the secondary objectives optional, it allows to explore them, if under a “4 stars silent assassins” best. Which I do not mind.

(there are some exception to it, some ETs are still only available under a mandatory no loadout, and I think we all know about the Fixer by now)

But

I wish they had gone weird and fun with it.

  • A marathon arcade, with all ETs. Or three arcade, which all ETs for each season separately.
  • I also kept wishing, back in the day, for a sniper arcade. One where a condition would be made to allow a sniper body found with sniper assassin.
  • in general then, I wanted to see some fun, unique conditions that allowed more unique gameplay. Maybe one where you have a mandatory guards elimination, or allowing explosive kills.

In fairness, those wishes disappeared once Freelancer released, since that’s where the idea became implemented.
Marathon would still be fun though.

So in short, it would have been fun, but I moved on to Freelancer to have what I wanted in arcadey hitman.

I’m still dreaming about a roulette arcade were we get random targets and complications on each run. That would be the perfect send off to this mode.

Are you suggesting that a failed arcade batch should only reset after the player has put in another twelve hours of in-game time?

Imagine I just tossed back a big glass of water. Now imagine I heard what you said. Now imagine I’m spitting out a mouthful of water without consideration all over my electronics and important documents — because that is how ridiculous what you said is.

A classic Patrick suggestion.

In light of this, I’ve got to ask: do you always seek the most difficult and ridiculous situation possible in every aspect of your life? Like, if you’re clothing shopping, does your ideal pair of jeans have thirteen leg holes and the zipper welded shut?

As for the topic at hand, why in the hell would anybody want such an arrangement for being able to replay a set of ETs in Arcade?

I wish they make a ladder ET mode.
Any/Any and you have to defeat all ET’s in random order. Die (or target escapes with some of them), then you have to restart the entire ladder at the bottom which gets randomized again.

@Travis_IOI new mode? :crazy_face:

And to maybe make it have trophies, have at least doing it all with SA and SA/SO. Lol

We still need… Or it would be cool to have… A marathon mode, a roulette feature, and score multiplier for successive ETs completed… And it should have that Sniper Assassin scoring aesthetic on the results screen.

Complications could be chosen by the player and be added to a base score. But that could be a real headache to figure out since there could be any combination of complications. I feel there’s still some potential with this idea.

So, to replay an Elusive Target Arcade I have to play randomly for 12 hours? Or do I have to leave my Playstation switched on for so much time, consuming electricity and money (my money)? It’s madness. We have a life outside the videogames
