It has been a while since we had a new legacy Elusive Target topic.
Three of them at once! It is good to see. Another long time community wish realised.
Don’t forget that they will all run at the same time.

As usual the topic is to post runs, discuss strategies, the target, and anything else related!

"Adeze Oijofor, operating under the nom de guerre “Nne Obara”, is a bloody-handed warlord who controls a sizable chunk of the rare earth trade in East Africa. Over a past sixteen months, a French telecoms company has been making aggressive inroads in areas she control, with some success.

ICA information indicates that the target has withdrawn her paramilitaries to neighboring nations, as a part of a Fabian strategy. Her security is handled by a former Vlakplaas veteran, with whom we believe Oijofor has more than a professional relationship. Although, information to this effect is circumstantial at best.

Her weakest link is her son, Kalu Oijofor. His education at Oxford and connections with the UK have allowed the ICA to track her to her current location in Bangkok. Neither the son nor the security chief are targets, however.

It seems highly likely that Oijofor will have a very sizable paramilitary unit either at the hotel or very close by."

The last run of the Warlord was in Hitman 2, in October 2019. Five years ago.

With this one, breaching charge for the win!

Imagine if they had done a Deceivers-type “new” ET combining The Warlord and The Ex-Dictator keeping all the objectives from both of them.

Is this the one where you have to get something from the safe with half a dozen guards in the room? I think, I only got it done once in Arcade and just stormed the room guns blazing and made it out alive barely, after failing the mission about ten times.

Well, this should be fun …

As @lukefsje alluded to, breaching charge really helps with the safe part. Especially with a guard disguise it makes the safe part a lot easier.

I’ll probably just cheese this one a little and kill her by blowing up the oil canister with a breaching charge. Doesn’t cause her guards to become enforcers, so pretty quick and easy kill.

Even as a soldier, its illegal to open the safe even with proper key and you cant dress as a commander so yeah, painfully memorable ET.

Aren’t there enforcers in the room, even when you have a guard disguise? Well, I guess, I have to check it out.

There may be, I know there’s one in Club 27. But it’s still easier than opening the safe normally, which is an illegal action in the guard disguise so everyone has to not see it.

Best strategy I found for the safe is to prepare it at the start, without picking the files.

  • Start as recording crew with the EMP, a Breaching Charge, a pistol, and a smuggled Lethal Syringe in 102
  • Place the pistol in front of the 104. Activate the Vacuum Cleaner to attract an Hotel Staff from 102.
  • The Hotel Staff will see it and go to the Security Room to signal it.
  • Two in three time they will go to the one Hotel Security who is the roaming enforcer of the room.
  • Subdue him as he picks up the weapon, hide him in the laundry basket.
  • Use his disguise to open the safe with the breaching charge and delete the recorder with the EMP. No enforcer remaining!
  • Re-use the vacuum cleaner to attract the male Hotel Staff from 102, basket, disguise.
  • Penthouse Queen Suite, enter bedroom via bathroom. Lethal Syringe the target after her meeting.
  • Back to Hotel Security disguise, take the files.
  • Exit.

The main issue then are the roaming enforcers. The usual for Bangkok

Despite having a target in a fairly hostile area and the safe being one of the most difficult ET objectives, I do give the original developers of the mission props for adding in a very easy evidence recorder so at least the cameras aren’t a big problem to worry about

I didn’t record my run, so here’s a recreation of my run. Triple shot, blue egg and exploding oil canister cheese ahoy! Time came in at 2:08.

I didn’t remember this one until I was mid run :joy: liked the little twist and that it wasn’t as straight forward as some of the others we’ve had.

Completely ignoring the tipp with the breaching charge of course, I tried a different approach. The idea: Copleteley emetic the whole guards room. So, packing a Sieker, Emetic Grenade, Fibre Wire and Durian Fruit in the hidden stash, starting in 47s Room.

First, get a guards disguise from one of the both guards on the floor with 47s room. Easy task. Down to the guard room then.

Durian in the middle of the room, getting all three Hotel Guards. Emetic grenade for the soldier on the left of the safe. Sieker for the one on the right. That was the moment, when I couldn’t believe it worked so fine.

So, open safe, get the data and since I’m here, shut down the camera system. That was the moment, when everything went down the gutter. Just in the brief moment, when I tampered with the camera device, the one Hotel Guard, that goes through this room once an hour it seems, decided, that this was the right time, to take a look inside. And he didn’t like what he saw.

With everyone else vomiting somewhere, forunately I was able to escape easily. Next step, up to the flat of the Warlord herself. Thinking, I’m a guard, I can clearly go in there, I was badly mistaken. And boy, those soldiers don’t take prisoners. As soon, as I stepped between them, they startet firing and I had to act quickly. Meaning:Running away as fast as I could.

Down the stairs, into the cellar, hiding until the smoke cleared. Then getting a Hotel Staff Uniform and getting up again, into the flat, waiting for the Warlord in her room. Thinking, to use the machete, but chose the Fibre Wire instead. Strangling her, stored her in the cupboard and a millisecond later, her bodyguards came in, looking for her. That was close …

Just getting out of here, I’m running down the stairs, still in Staff Uniform,when suddenly, the one soldier who seems to know all the staff comes up the stairs and directly opens fire on me. Running Away Part II, barely making it out of there and leaving with the boat.

Man, that was intense. I guess, I can never show my face in Bangkok againg, but mission accomplished …

I remember my attempt at this one going very similarly in the OG H1 version. Having to fight my way down from the top floor, seeing a whole load of orange silhouettes in Instinct no matter what disguise I was wearing, and an eventual drainpipe slide down to 47’s room for my final escape in my Suit, practically the only thing I could wear that wasn’t compromised.

Stressful at the time, but a fun memory!

The balls on this guy, standing in the damaging blue gas, knowing it’s not going to be enough to kill you. Also, apparently running through fire is okay too!
