Phew. I took him out with relative ease and using the Ice Axe! Silent Assassin and at first try aswell.
Used the Greedy Little Coins as distractions and just a heads up: He starts to his route of changing disguises as soon as his bodyguard disappears, wich also is the way to get him nice and isolated if you time it properly.
I started off in the back of the manor and made my way closer to the dining area. I noticed the implementation of additional guards within that area so had to adjust my path ever so slightly.
A guard was in front of me from my first objective, but fortunately for me his eyesight wasn’t that good so I climbed the pipe and found myself in a bathroom.
I made my way over to a balcony where a lone guard stood in silence. I subdued him and to my horror I found that he was guarding none other than Zackary a resident of the manor so I paid my respects and hid the guards body.
Time was of the essence so before arriving to Thornbridge I looked at the painting I needed to retrieve and I reckoned it would be in a hard to reach place so I went to the very top of the Manor. Unfortunately for me a few enforcers were in my way, but waiting patiently was my best choice as of the moment.
I’d enter Alexas Office and find the painting cutting it out of its frame when no one was looking.
I’d escape the manors interior through the way I came and make my way towards a area where I wildlife inspector would look so I headed towards the greenhouse.
I’d find Haynes with the Guard. I readied my Emetic Tranq and would promptly shoot the guard in a blind spot. I quickly reloaded my Tranq and would soon after shoot my Target, my shot was heard and it alerted nearby guards so I hid preying on my target.
Haynes would go towards the marshland secluded where I’d pull out my lethal syringe and promptly prick him. Following this I ran towards the wooden bridge and would Exfil from the area undetected with painting in hand.
Damn IO. I was not expecting to be genuinely surprised by an Elusive Target at this stage. So cool with those extra dynamics. This is the kind of out-the-box thinking that make ET’s come alive, because it’s just really cool to be challenged in real time. Him changing disguises and escaping upon seeing the stolen picture. It’s always good with the two-objectives, because you lose your restart, but then here he was hard to find and suddenly he escaped as well. You had to adapt on the fly. If there was ever one to model future ET’s after…
Infiltration while in suit is quite easy in Dartmoor. Here I aimed to get to Zachary’s Room balcony and get the outfit of the body guard there. Success.
Getting to the paint is the easy part. It’s like if you went for the Constant’s files on the main mision but easier since the objective is on the stairs. Still, wait for the guard at the bottom of the stairs to look the other way before starting to cut the painting.
You can easily dispose of his bodyguard in the bushes that are close to the boat but be fast since the moment you do this, the Collector starts his route to change disguises but also a great window to lure him to a deathtrap, since he goes for the main door of the manor that takes to the yard.
Only be wary of the guard’s route here and one of the maids and you have a great killing spot. Here made with the Ice Axe. Funny face for a permanent goodbye to his collection. Also, he was a waste so to the trash he goes.
(Also, if you have Twitter and like art like this, visit the artist’s profile and comm her, please. She is really cool: https://twitter.com/Sk1rmish3r)
Has anyone encountered a bug when you retrieve the painting? I’ve restarted twice and both times after retrieving the painting it doesn’t register on the game that the painting has been retrieved. Xbox console.
Absolutely! As I mentioned up above I’ve already lost one account because he escaped and it causes you to fail , but luckily it wasn’t my main account. I think I’ve figured out most of what he does, but if you or anyone thinks they’ve discovered something unexpected or possible to miss I’d appreciate a PM to give me the heads up.
OK, after rebooting again the console, it worked as normal the third time. Not sure what was going on with the glitch as I had switched on the console to play the ET.
Friendly enquiry with no pressure intended (as I want you to have fun in a way that best suits you with H3, like I do for everyone), but do you plan to do anything crazy on the new H3 ETs, Urben, or will you be playing safer and restricting the mad scientist kills to re-run H1/H2 Elusives only?
At least they did one thing right by letting you use any ‘knife’ in the objective. I remember being in Dubai, holding a scimitar but i couldn’t cut the parachutes because i didn’t have a kitchen knife.
Seriously, if i bring a katana, let me cut with it~! THE BLADE HUNGERS
Ended up killing the target pretty fast but wanted to do the optional afterwards, was pretty tense as i was going in blind as to enforcers. Thought i was done and nearly ran down into Ms Carlisle lol.
Dang. I kinda would have liked to see that. I guess it was bugged for me. He simply stopped moving after he saw the painting was gone. I had to lure him up the stairs to get to him unseen (also first had to make the nearby guard store a weapon so that the target would be the one to react). If I knew there was an extra mechanic to the target I might have restarted instead to check it out.
So… I wanted to do something interesting for this ET. But I wasn’t prepared for what he would do.
At first I wanted to off-him with the almond dagger. A relic to a relic hunter, so to say. But I was so surprised that he would change his path after I knocked out his guard, that I… just had to follow him. In the end, I ended up KOing everyone for him, and watched him not only guide me to the painting, but stealing it for me. Then I took this shot, before I wanted to shoot him.
He walked out the door before I could shoot him. I rushed to the guard disguise (Since I didn’t want to restart (team no restarts!) or loose SA by going after him, OR fail it since I don’t even know where he was heading). In the end I ended up stabbing him in the shoulder with the almond knife after all, in the parking garden area. Phew.
Not quite what I had planned out, but definitely the most rememberable ET run I ever had. And I even managed to get SA!
(In the end I messed up, and the corpse got spotted a few meters before I got to the motorcycle… and after that, I restarted… After all that I just wanted the SA, don’t hate me for that!)
Kinda surprised to hear that the target can escape… Is there any prompt from Diana to indicate that he’s leaving and you’re at risk of failing - or does it just happen seemingly out of nowhere?
