It makes sense in a way that secondary objective (kill Emma) was removed. The main plot of Hitman 3 is 47 “fighting” against Providence and ICA. Killing Emma seems too far from the main objective that is getting rid of Carlisle and retrieve Constant’s files.
Her route is a little bit weak to to be a secondary target.
After the detective story concludes she goes for a walk down to the greenhouse, that could be an opportunity, although I suppose there would be some kind of time limit on killing her before she killed Alexa… You’d have to kill her then Kill Alexa otherwise there’s no point to it, but if you’re killing Alexa anyway then there’s no real point in killing Emma. Maybe the developers toyed with the idea but it didn’t seem like it would make much sense in the end.
if it were up to me I would get rid of the case files reward and easy kill opportunities for the emma / butler outcomes of the detective mission story (keep them for blaming zachary though since that makes more sense). then the “emma as a target” bit could be a part 2 of the mission story, sort of like the tour + meeting in mendoza, leading to a good kill opportunity and the case files feeling more earned than they do now. it would also just make more sense for her to give you them after you’ve proved yourself to her
the first time I played the mission I did the detective mission story (of course) and was a bit disappointed at how everything was just handed to me on a platter at the end of it
I imagine they went through a lot of variations and approaches to it - but probably found that it was not very satisfying and kinda anticlimatic. You had two games to build up Alex Carlisle as a personal nemisis of 47 and Grey after all - plus the detective taking on a hit probably didn’t fit very well with the Agatha Christie feel.
Personally I take great delight in warning Alexa that Emma is planning her death, then making it happen by repairing the chemistry kit in the greenhouse and simply waiting. It feels a particularly fitting way to dispose of the former puppetmaster.
I guess 47 got a taste for outsourcing his hits after Mumbai.
Nobody.
Good luck collecting on that IOU from Grey.
Is it possible to snipe Alexa from the rooftop into her grave and retain SA, does anyone know? And more specifically, can it be done without KO-ing either the Undertaker or Alexa’s Bodyguard?
Yes, it can be done. I managed to do it with a distraction shot and some good timing. You can also legshot the undertaker.
I love that it’s you who have given me the help on Dartmoor, @Beldingford, with it being the spiritual successor to Contracts’ mansion!
Cool, gonna see if I can find any videos of people doing this on YT, because I am struggling trying to do it myself.
Also if you shoot twice on the floor behind the undertaker, then shoot Alexa quickly he wont react to her getting shot
Here’s one video I found. I think I did it in the exact same way.
This is probably a good method too.
Brilliant, thanks so much for posting that video, got it down myself now. I had tried something similar but always shot a distraction shot down the path back towards towards the house and never got it to work, but simply shooting the distraction shot to the right near the funeral seating instead let me get away with it.
Cheers!
Master Difficulty “Ghost Assassin” Suit Only/Silent Assassin/Fibre Wire/No HUD/No KO/No Distractions…
There is a way to kill Alexa without using any distractions/wasting bullets, even with the Caretaker right next to her I’ll share the gameplay video later today. Just figured out how to do it & get 5 Star Rating on Master Difficulty
Have you by any chance experimented in detail which rifles is this possible with, aside from the Golden Dragon?
Is it possible to take out Alexa Carlisle with one Single Sniper Headshot from the roof, while The Undertaker is talking to her? With No Bullet Distractions of any kind to separate both individuals so the shot is possible? Hide her body in the grave & gain 5 Star Silent Assassin Rating on Master Difficulty???
YES!! It’s possible with a very small window of opportunity
I haven’t, I tried some sniper rifles but I can’t remember with which it works anymore, sorry.
