Autumn (2024) Roadmap Speculation

Since the game patch for this next roadmap will presumably be dropping about a week after the release of the game on MQ3, I wonder how likely it is that that the patch for other platforms will contain some of the changes to the game made in the XR Games release…

Looking at you dual wielding.

Will also be interesting to see if the MQ3 release gets put out on its own island or if it will somehow follow the roadmaps going forward, since its a game that is fully offline.

Hitman 3 VR will be apart, I reckon. They may mention it in a roadmap, but XR Games are dealing with patches and stuff, not IOI!

My guess is that since there are no female guards in the game, there are probably no weapon animations for female NPCs so Akka wouldn’t have been able to use them?

Hmmm, that’s an interesting question? I can’t see us getting dual wielding on the likes of normal PS5 and Series X/S can you? We may see a couple of slight changes, however, I think they’ll predominantly run as separate entities.

I agree with both of you. Especially on realizing potential, even Dartmoor I feel they did well with what they have but that location couldve easily been modified even further. I dont know if there’s a rule or not on whether they can modify map geography for a bonus location but I think Dubai and Dartmoor bonus missions which change up the layout of the buildings could have done a lot to give those small maps replayability while utilizing their base design which is decent

I really like Garden Show too. i often think about a mumbai bonus mission set in the festival of colors, with moving floats, but i also think about how there were rumors that with Freelancer they were considering adding a tunnel ala Marrakesh into Mumbai and I think expanding the sewers of Mumbai while also finishing up Rangan tower would be a cool idea for an epilogue mission. Maybe the festival idea could make for a cool colombia bonus or even Chongqing but Chongqing is so small (then again, map expansions via bonus missions could fix that)

Roadmap news drop this week do we reckon? The Drop is coming next Thursday, so hopefully we’ll get the full roadmap drop this week to digest everything :slightly_smiling_face:

As much as I hope so too. To quote the blog post:

A roadmap covering the duration of The Drop mission will be released when The Drop returns.

So I expect it the 12th, covering the four weeks of it.
(which would leave the second half of October and November for another roadmap, maybe an Event one.)

I don’t expect too much for the Drop Returns roadmap.
I would expect more for the next one. Included the implementation of what IOI took from asking for returns/wishlist recently, hopefully.

I could see some interesting items unlock in the Drop one though. After the Pinot Noir general backlash, I think more carefully chosen items are reasonable expectations. Maybe not new ones (yet), but a more curated selection.

I’m not entirely sure where to put this to be honest, but it is related to the topic at hand. Just made this to…vent some frustration in my usual manner.

I still hope that this is a “all our eggs went into tomorrow’s cake” situation.

It could even explain the small last patch. If a large one happens later on, due to dependencies/redundant forking avoidance it could only arrive all at once, and later.

Not the most probable though.

I like that theory, and I’m actually inclined to believe in it, if nothing else but because It actually does make some sense. But still, if that’s their plan, then they really, really, should tell us.

It’s one think keeping challenges and upcoming content a secret to preserve the mystery. I get that that to an extent. It’s another thing to not tell people the scope or size of your next patch. I know plans change, but these things are very rarely last minute decisions.

I also don’t understand why they shadow drop stuff. They have something to talk about and it might squeeze some more sales out of it if they spoke about it. On the other hand I don’t think we need to be mad about this aspect. These announcements address players that are not too engaged with the game. Not HMF.

Personally it does not feel like we get less content than we did in H2 and H2016 in the last months. It was always kinda slim then but we got FCs. It is just, other than back then, the communication cut off. I mean, uh once again? :stuck_out_tongue: Given how that began before Samir joined IO, it seems unrelated to who or how many community people IO has. Thought the two new ones might still be onboarding?

When the gramps like vincen talk about pre-h2016 HMF (pls don’t tag him) that was actually the regular mood here. Well, plus the edgy users we lack these days.

I miss the FC submission threads the most, I was kinda grumpy about it here on HMF and more private chats but they returned for some time. But that was dropped again when Clemens/Travis left and I don’t feel to keep asking for it again.

I personally don’t expect this to continue for long until the Live tab in the game remains empty for good. I already prepare for the time we are on our own here until IO begins to teaser a new Hitman game.

Since WB gave the Discord to IO, the users and us moderators are also more or less on our own in the public channels. Community stuff surely is just not their strong :necktie:. Does someone check their TikTok? Maybe we got too old to be interesting for IO. :joy:

  1. I was engaged with this game and I only found out by complete chance a few days back.
  2. Having some consistent place for information is a generally net-positive thing to do, even if it’s on a quasi-official-unofficial forum.

I wouldn’t even mind the live tab (I can absolutely see the thought process here), but it’s not populated properly, and they’ve weirdly kept it barren and functionally useless, so I use Heritage UI to hide it.

I never really thought of it like this to be honest? So, I wonder if we’ll get The Drop roadmap covering 12th Sept - 14th Oct, then we’ll get the proper Autumn roadmap covering remainder of October and into November, then Winter will cover December and January? By the Winter roadmap, I’d also expect us to know what’s happening with Year 5 as well :slightly_smiling_face:

I wouldn’t mind if the game was winding down like H2016 and Hitman 2 each did in their second year. That was what I thought was going to happen since Year 3, with Freelancer as the swan song.

Where I do mind is that the game is not winding down. There are new ETs produced, not so cheap partnership, hype build up made on SoMe…

But it’s (currently) all in a zero-sum game, with the game as a game and the fan community on the loosing side of it.

I just wish some of the budget / dev time / effort IOI is ready to send to celebrity to also be used for interesting things in the gameplay of the game. Well managed it wouldn’t even be in competition, but in synergy.

I still hold some hope for the November roadmap, with the expectation that the next one will be transitionary.

However, you can find a female bodyguard in Hitman:absolution,Layla’s level.I don’t know why they don’t use her.Female bodyguard or target could be a good idea
