Wait that AI-(de)generated Michelin Man 47 wasn’t an extreme hallucination I had? They thought it would be a good idea to use that in the announcement?
Yes, 47 ages slowly. The initial point of Ort-Meyer’s cloning programme was basically to harvest fresh organs for the Five Fathers (or at least four of them) to use and live longer (they were all in their 60s or older by the time C47 takes place, but didn’t look so as much and definitely had superior vitality).f
I actually think the harvesting of cloned organs for the Five Fathers was a secondary aspect of the work. Ort-Meyer wanted a loyal army of obedient super soldiers to conquer the world a la the Third Reich, and the rest of the Fathers wanted a clone each for themselves for their own purposes. The cloned organs were to keep them sated and happy in the time until then, and keep their funding coming for the project (in addition to what Ort-Meyer was apparently also secretly getting from Providence), as well as any fresh DNA samples Ort-Meyer might have needed from them, and to help them live long enough to see the completion of the project. I think what they were ultimately hoping for was Ort-Meyer to be able to make superior clone bodies of themselves and then they could someday transfer their brains or consciousness into these bodies and be young again, rinse and repeat and you have a form of immortality. The organs part was just to keep them in the picture.
And Providence I’m pretty sure just wanted to use the clones as combination soldiers, bodyguards and assassins in the way the Court of Owls from Batman comics use their own soldiers/assassins, the Talons.
Despite the Hippo Whisper’s comment that Rico Delgado can’t be the only person in the world with a pet hippo, is that most likely actually the case?
Rico’s pet hippo is based on real-life drug lord Pablo Escobar who brought 4 hippos as pets to Colombia and their population has grown to about 200 hippos today which have become a big problem for both humans and indigenous plant and animal life in the country.
As for other IRL people who kept hippos as pets, I found the story of Marius Els from South Africa who had a pet hippo that was “like a son” to him and the hippo wound up biting him to death.
If it’s happened in the real world that some people were willing to keep hippos as pets, chances are it’s also true in the world of Hitman. Probably hippo pets are even more likely considering how dumb a lot of the NPCs are
Hitman game servers appear to be down. Were they going to have an update and thus undergo server maintenance?
Edit: Eh, never mind. All platforms back up.
I think with or without an in universe reason, Diana is also now “timeless.”
It’ll be easier for her to remain “timeless” if they stick with her being just a voice on the intercom again instead of giving her in-game appearances. They can justify 47, but they can’t justify Diana unless we go back to those two empty 7 year stretches on either side of Absolution.
On that note Victoria will probably be timeless as well.
I wonder what’s with Victoria know. Was she decanonized? Does Diana still take care of her? Was she adopted by someone else? Is she even alive?
Same thing that happened with Birdie and Cosmo
Absolution’s plot is just 47 having a nightmare after drinking too much moonshine.
No, it actually happened. It just doesn’t matter what happened to those three, the story going forward doesn’t involve them. It’s also pretty easy to figure out. Birdie and Faulkner were probably taken out by ICA for being loose ends against 47, as a thank you for his taking care of Travis and exposing him as the problem and not Diana. As for Victoria, she either threw her necklace into the water and ended up dying, or she got a new identity courtesy of Diana and is now living a quiet life away from the eyes of people who knew about her.
How realistic was the police lockdown of the CTA line train station in the final segment of the Hitman Absolution mission Run For Your Life? In addition to all lines being cancelled, all passengers who were on the platform at the time were unable to even leave due to the police not wanting 47 to escape their clutches. However in doing so the police endangered countless civilians. Given how far the police gone, I’m frankly surprised they didn’t set-up cell phone jammers to prevent 47 from trying to coordinate with co-conspirators.
With Gamescom coming near, I wanted to ask if someone from the forum will attend it? I will not go, but I thought when some of you are in cologne, since I live near the trade fair, maybe we could meet? I think it would be great to meet someone from the forum (even though I’m very shy )!
Does anyone know where to get advice about writing a CV? Trying to rewrite mine at the moment, just trying to figure out how to phrase stuff.
It was fairly realistic. The L is semi regularly shut down due to “police activity.” You’ll be riding and the train will stop between stations and the conductor will say you’re standing do to police activity at the next stop. I have never been told I can not leave a station when the police show up, but I have been compared to a photo prior to being allowed to leave.
Thankfully most police activity stops are not full blown man hunts but just the police arresting someone for a minor crime and so the delay to everyone else is minimal.
You think with the situation depicted in Hitman that realistically the police would’ve brought along cell phone jammers given who they were searching for? Of course instead of people calling loved ones to tell them they’ll be delayed they’d be complaining about not being able to get a signal.
No I don’t think the Chicago police have those. I could be wrong though.
But then again if that were true, Boston would’ve gone through a phone and internet blackout during the lockdown there.
