You can look for new mid-range smartphones that should be in the same price range of a Cubot phone, ~180£. Samsung Galaxy A14 5G (doesn’t come with a charger), Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S, Motorola Edge 20 Lite are some good examples for good mid-range phones to buy. There are plenty out there to chose from different brands that are cheap

I recently (maybe a couple of months ago?) bought a Samsung A13 with 64GB of storage and 4G (I don’t use data too often) for £180. It’s great so far, much better than a Samsung I bought 4 years ago, for the same price, that stopped working. As you said, it doesn’t come with a charger, so that’s an extra £20-25, but I’m very happy with the phone so far! Decent camera, runs well, great storage, good screen size: it’s all I need really, I couldn’t justify spending any more.

Yep, mid-range phones have come a long way and are a viable option. I bought a Samsung S7 in 2018 for £322 that I’m still using to this day and most mid-range phones mop the floor with it

Want to get into/replay a game, but I’m being a total chicken wimp about it

Resi Evil2 Remake – tried continuing the 2nd run save, made it to another save point but I was whimpering around every corner, lost out of my mind (I totally forgot the layout of this place) and constantly afraid of the swath of enemies dumped on you. Also I wasted pallets on a random window and have no more ammo…
So… I’m gonna call it quits on that one again, I just think it’s way too tough and wild for me right now.

I thought hey why not revisit RE7 – cool, cool, jump into that… oh Heyyy there’s that Madhouse mode I haven’t tried yet in it. I look up what makes it harder – a lot apparently!! Location items changed, limited saves, tiny health, more enemies… ooookay I guess I don’t want that either!

I guess I’m looking for some action-horror title, one that isn’t too tough or throws tons of enemies at me.
Um… is The Evil Within too scary? I’ve heard it’s inspired by RE4’s style, so that might be a good halfway-horror title.
I also kinda want to try Subnautica that I apparently own. I’ve heard it can be scary, but the main draw is the survival/base-building. I hope it isn’t too big though I don’t know if I want to be sucked into a massive survival experience…
I’ve also been feeling the call to revisit Infamous: Second Son… hmmm

Evil Within is a great Series, its like a mixture of resident evil and silent hill. EW1 is a bit clunky and a bit janky but I loved the story and the atmosphere. That’s why I prefer it over EW2, but EW2 is definitely the “better” game, mechanically.

I think Subnautica’s scare factor depends on how scary or creepy you find the real life deep ocean and creatures. If that stuff doesn’t bother you, I think most of the game is fine.

I love Subnautica, great game, I highly recommend.

I’m not scared of them at all, nope… Totally

chicken, my brother, i love ye. and I implore you to try the second run again. If I have to give you any tips, the only zombies i would absolutely kill are the lobby zombies and the new lickers. and dont go near the star office as this spawns mr. x, for the rest just take it nice and slow. YOU CAN DO THIS (i know for a fact you can as even my non-gamer sister finished a second run)

oh and after the police station its basically the same game as the first run

Ooh… I do want to like it, I really do. The first run through was a great tense experience, I guess the time off I took from RE2 didn’t help much.

Ehhhh idk Khaki, maybe??
2nd run is weird, I’ve barely gotten myself acquainted to Claire’s story path and already I feel overwhelmed. (Is that just how her path works? Leon had a great slow-burn opening with the chief and you slowly unlocked new areas to explore…)
I totally chickened out and deleted the game last night out of fear, but I guess I can reinstall it again, just for you

Feel free to DM me i dont wanna go too off topic

that’s just because of the second run, if you pick claire as your first run she gets the near exact same opening as leon. Claire is luckily the easier of the two characters in general. As her guns are much more powerful (grenade launcher with two ammo types instead of shotgun, an smg you can upgrade with an silencer instead of magnum, and an electro gun that one shots the g-adults in the sewers instead of the flamethrower.)

the second run can indeed be overwhelming, but just think of this completely open police station as this. This is the police station after leon went through it already, nearly every route except up to the clock tower is open immediatley, but the location of the statues hasnt changed. just keep calm and try to remember what leon did on his first run through.

also sorry people from the thread i missed the last line of the post

I did Leon, then Claire, and I do think it is an easier time, like Khakiasp says, due to familiarity of the route, Claire’s arsenal, and one other something that will assist you mid way through.

I have a silly idea that I want to make into a fan comic of fan fic. It takes place during freelancer. 47 is tasked with taking out 4 high ranking yakuza members in Japan. He has a few months to do it so the other yakuza members don’t get suspicious. The safehouse he stays at for this mission is a “haunted” apartment complex owned by a super old retired spy. Basically, 47 lives out one of those fluffy animes about the life of people living in an apartment together. I wanted to write this since I want to explore 47 relationship with normal people. I have 3 tenants in mind:

Landlord: complete opposite of 47. Sociable, grumpy old guy with a heart of gold. He used to get around in his hay day too. He finds 47 interesting because he’s mysterious. I like to think he becomes a mentor for 47 in a way, teaching him how to live a normal life with other people.

Salaryman: he finds 47 to be off putting and is kinda racist. He’s has ties to the yakuza group 47 is trying to infiltrate because he owes them a lot of money. At some point he gets kidnapped since he doesn’t pay out. 47 follows him to see if he can find any information about the whereabouts of a target. In the end he ends up saving Salaryman, who tells him he should have let him die since he feels like a failure. 47, disguised as a guard ironically tells him to cherish his life and yadda yadda. Salaryman takes his advice to heart and leaves Japan to get away from the yakuza.

College girl: like Salaryman she is a bit hesitant about 47. But for some reason she develops a crush on him. No shippy stuff though. I’m still unsure about what their dynamic will be yet. I’m thinking he either ignores her advances like Lei Ling or they become friends through some shared interest, like bonding over playing mahjong. Eventually she looses interest in him because she realizes he’s too old probably won’t be a good boyfriend.

Do you guys have any suggestions about how to write 47’s relationships with the others, or what kind of characters you want to see 47 interact with? I mainly want to focus on that. But if you have suggestions for the yakuza part of the story I wouldn’t mind that too.

Why is it always the night before I need to be up earlier than usual that my goddamned insomnia decides to pop up and fuck with me all night?!

I don’t know what you’ll need to do. Hopefully, it’s not your mind dwelling on it, or something else.

I’ve found that if I ever have any nagging thoughts I literally say out loud to, well, my mind

“Mind! Be quiet!.. Mind! Be at peace!”

If you’ve already got your eyes closed and in bed, do a body scan from top to bottom, or focus on your bodily sensations. The weight of any clothing or sheets. Any sounds you might hear… Even notice your breathing as you inhale… and exhale. I’m not saying to focus on all of that at once… Just pick whichever you like.

Good luck.

Hopefully you didn’t read this and got those precious Zzzs… and all ^this can be for next time.

Is anyone around here a huge fan of the ArmA series and would happen to have a stockpile of mods for ArmA 1 and 2 among their old files? Or do you have a friend who is/does?

I´ve been scouring the internet for mods for these two games (and OFP/CWA), and while I did manage to find quite a few, a lot of those I´d like to try are not available anywhere atm or the uploaded versions are not the latest. (regret not doing a mod search 5 years ago when I bought the games and all the links weren´t actually dead :sob: )

Depends on what mods exactly you are looking for. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nope but I can look for some of the mods that you want, might stumble upon them on some Russian fan-sites :slightly_smiling_face:
Send me a list on DM :+1:
