No. Only new and upgrading a sub by actually forking over cash will net you the reward.
Also, it’s probably clear, but you need to subscribe while said streamer is playing in the HITMAN category for it to verify.

I guess just some synergy for the games company and Twitch, in wanting people to get or gift subs to others to further increase engagement and interaction with the site.
Now, I say usually above, since I do remember sometime last year Cyberpunk 2077 had a Sub Reward in celebration of the Phantom Liberty dlc. Buy a Twitch Sub and get a special Sniper Rifle I think it was… Strange promo for a single-player game that doesn’t have live-service elements for sure! (Though it does have Twitch Prime and other website rewards integration, so yeah)

That’s also true for the watch time ones, also by quite a wide margin. It’s a lot of loot chests and free currency for live-service games.

True, true. But I guess for the companies that really want bigger engagement (and more support from their “content creators” who stream the game regularly and benefit from this), they give even more lucrative, exclusive bonuses through Subs like this one here!
Gahh… I get the idea behind it all for the individual streamer, but looking at it from a totally corporate, FOMO-induced money-making perspective, it makes my skin crawl…
PSA: It’s worth it to note! Even if you aren’t interested in dropping money for this promo, but you still have access to Twitch Prime/Amazon Prime, the “Free 1-Month Sub” token you get from that account link DOES contribute money towards the streamer you’re watching, even if you yourself aren’t throwing out any cash for it.
(Because you already are, by having Amazon Prime, who will eventually put its money into keeping Twitch alive, its subsidiary)

+1 to @ZeroGravitas’s very well-put denunciation of this Twitch subscription nonsense requirement for the suit unlock, I couldn’t have put it better myself.
@Combatglue - when you debrief back to your bosses at IOI, please remember that although you want to get new eyes on your existing game, it’s also a good idea not to enact shady marketing practices that are wildly unpopular with your existing fans, because we’re probably the core audience for Project 007 and the more bullshit you throw our way the less likely we are to support your future titles.

I don’t have much to say that hasn’t already been said, but yeah I want to just vocalize that I don’t like this Twitch sub stuff either. I was already not thrilled about the drops, but at least I could put a stream on in the background and not worry about it. I had never heard of this until now and honestly it just sucks IMO.

I don’t think I will bring anything new to the discussion, but still
Even though I know nothing about the actor, he seems pretty good as a personality and famous for the older generation, so there isn’t more I could ask for in terms of that
But… can we please talk about the fucking lore. I love it. So, usual ET’s: constant path, some justification why they are here, that’s it. The Disruptor brought in saving Tim, but this doesn’t really change the flow.
And now we:
- Got deep lore not in terms of “this guy did this evil” (which works fine though if written good enough), but in terms of “here is how he connects with the ICA as a whole”
- We have some quest about board member, which is VERY experimental (note that I said quest, not mission story), and do I love it.
- We got new animations (of target himself, particularly some karate stuff), very different decorations (guards, couches)
- Chongqing’s facility area is one of the difficultiest areas to do SA (IMO), also it is hostile, and I love it
- Judging by previous two points, I feel that there is a slight chance that former best of ICA will be able to flight against 47?.. Like in terms of shooting or punching at least, please, let it happen. I understand that it will ruin a lot of experience for new players probably, but it would be fantastic.
So yeah, ngl, I am hyped very much. It feels experimental, it feels like something done with passion and thought, and I am all for it. Especially lore.
I have one worry though - judging by these couches… it feels that the direction is to make him goofy villain, and I would be very disappointed in that approach. It will probably happen, but please don’t forget the fact that he is the second best of ICA – really hope to see him to be dangerous.

Also, could someone please enlighten me about the actor?.. I am not from English speaking country and rather young, so I had no idea of who he is. I did inquire my parents, they said smth like “He was like Tom Cruise in his time, stood next to Arnold Schwarzenegger” (yeah, they aren’t too into action movies, but still)) Is that true?
If so, the choice is done perfectly – burnt star of ICA played by, dare I say, such legend is poetic.

I’ll always support IOI with any paid DLC for Hitman, but I’m not a fan of the concept of unlocks being hidden behind paying a Twitch streamer to get the suit/weapon item etc. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the biggest fan of the purple skinned items, but I’m posting my opinion about this because should there be any exclusive suits hidden behind this in the future, for example, a buttoned up Blood Money suit (just an example), I’d be stuck because I wouldn’t be on board with the idea of paying a streamer to get this suit.

Twitch drops were already a bad idea in my opinion. I don’t use Twitch, I only created an account for the drops and whenever there is one I just leave the stream playing while I go AFK, I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who does this. This isn’t beneficial to creators because it’s just artificially increasing the number of views without any retention.
Now they pulled off something much worse with the twich subs because you have to pay to get the reward, which is even worse FOMO. Besides, I don’t really see how this helps creators either. The whole point of subscriptions is to renew them, that’s were the real money comes from, forcing people to do a one time payment for a reward and then leave forever won’t really bring benefits for the creator in the long run, not to mention that there’s a good chunk of people that won’t pay a sub just for a suit. I’m probably one of the few completitionist dumbasses that will actually pay for the suit, my OCD simply won’t let me miss anything
