Yes or No...? 2

Yeah, we tend to do stuff like that. We take things that have existed and been called by a certain title longer than we have been a country, turn our noses up at it, give the rest of the world the middle finger, then call it what we want because “we have all the guns and the money.”

Red Skull said it best near the end of Captain America: The First Avenger -

“Arrogance may not be a uniquely American trait, but I must say, you do it better than anyone.”

It’s sad when a ultra-Nazi’s critique of a country is accurate.

I’m from Chicago originally, so I have to go with a good Deep Dish (I would never fold a piece of pizza…what the heck is that about?). But I have to leave this here:

Detroit style.

But since that’s not an option, Chicago.

Favorite TV villain protagonist or anti-hero from the last 20 years
  • Tony Soprano - The Sopranos
  • Vic Mackey - The Shield
  • Jack Bauer - 24
  • Dexter Morgan - Dexter
  • Walter White - Breaking Bad
  • Raymond Reddington - The Blacklist

All these guys are either anti-heroes, or outright villain protagonists.

On this, it’s super close, but I gotta go with Raymond Reddington. The voice, the hat, the style, he’s to other crime bosses what Agent 47 is to assassins, and is the sole consistently entertaining thing about his series, the rest of which is hit or miss.

I had to vote for Walter White as I haven’t seen any of the other ones. Pretty sure my wife would vote for Dexter though. I seem to recall her liking that show.

I only included the ones I knew, and I don’t know who that is.

that’s al swearengen from deadwood. he’s incredible. the show’s incredible. died an early death though.

It has to be Dexter Morgan! Cant wait to see what they are doing with Season 9. Two weeks until go time.

It’s gotta be Tony. He was the original anti-hero.

Let us not forget the greatest TV villain protagonist/main character of the last 20 years.

Baltimore, in The Wire. Like the whole city.

Stringer Bell is best!
Edit: or is that outside of 20 years? I think it’s inside 20. I think it’s 2001 the series starts. Either way I’m getting old :joy:

Jon Stewart eventually realised he was wrong. That’s Marc Malnati with him like a week later :joy:

I actually think the entire thing was an elaborate marketing tactic

I saw that too. We have a Malnati’s out here in Phoenix too and it’s still amazing stuff. I have a frozen one in my freezer right now, in fact.

You have portillos as well.

Sure do. Several of them now. And a White Castle (not that WC is specific to just Chicago, but it’s welcome just the same).

Definitely seasons 4 and 7. Trinity and Issac Sirko are the two most threatening and badass enemies Dexter had ever faced, and you actually care about what they are doing, not just in relation to how Dexter is gonna take them out.
