This is one of your worst posts, IMO. I often agree with you about most subjects, but the Always Online requirement of the WoA remains the worst single thing about an otherwise excellent game, and it’s something that is perfectly valid to take issue with.

It’s not my internet, because I have this issue with no other game I play where I’m connected during gameplay for updates. It is only Hitman that has this issue on an almost daily basis.
The biggest issue with Always Online has never been because of needing an Internet connection, though that is still an issue.
The problem is that when the servers get shut down all challenges, the ability to unlock any new items, starting locations, and item stashes, Holiday Hoarders and Hokkaido Snow Festival, Freelancer, Sniper Assassin, the ET Arcade, and all of the escalations including the ones people specifically paid for will be gone forever.

Any love for Freelancer I support! It was great to see Freelancer get lots of attention in the Winter update and by the looks of it, the Safehouse is getting more updates next year judging by the leaks section!! 
I hope this gets a fix!! It’s really annoying, especially when you compare the animation to the Blood Money one! 
47’s signature suit with gloves is my go to as well, with Blood Money being a close second.

I agree with this part of the article.
The Steam version of HITMANWOA users were not entitled to play the game for a year, despite their intention to purchase it, due to the exclusive sale by the EPICGAMES version.
As a result, the Elusive Target was also not able to play the first year.
There is no save data compatibility with the EPICGAMES version, and it just says “Missed”.
As someone who has bought all the HITMAN series on Steam, this is very disappointing.
I would very much like to see the right to play the first year of the elusive target be given to Steam version HITMANWOA users somewhere.

I am somewhat offended to be confronted with this fact every time I look at elusive targets from a carrier these days, because the first year is displayed first.

There is/was a way to play them at some point. If you look at the leaderboards for them on Steam, they’re not empty.
Dunno how they did it though.

Speaking of ETs, one thing I wouldn’t mind them doing for some of the Y5 ETs, something that would at least make the repeat ETs feel a little different is “holiday-ify” them where possible.
Imagine playing The Forger/Broker/Pharmacist/Sensation if the game also loaded the mission brick for Holiday Hoarders so you had all the Christmas paraphernalia because of the time of year its been activated. They could also Halloween-ify The Politician, Easter-ify The Liability or Hokkaido Snow Festival-ify The Fugitive/Surgeons.
@Combatglue An idea for the team. Berlin would require edits as the club is closed off in Berlin Egg Hunt, but the others function completely fine with the bricks from the mission/escalations added unedited. Would feel like a little bit of effort has been made with them to theme them.

Does this mean that there was a way to play it even before the Steam version was sold?
But that seems like an impossible way for the average user who waited for the sale.
Personally, I would have liked IOI to have been given an equal opportunity to play the first year elusive target.

No, the exploit lies in being able to mess with server responses and playing ets after their run. (I did this for the latest disruptor rerun since it was abruptly ended)

It’d be nice if we finally got to assassinate Jin Po and his son Tren, in some winter-themed mission, maybe taking place in mountains of Khandanyang where they would be hiding.

I have a concept on how a mission like that could work - one way I came up with is a sniper mission that also ties some loose ends throughout the series.

Thats a great concept. Throw in a new sniper map set in Khandanyang and a snow map for the base game/freelancer and it’s pretty much perfect.

I did strongly consider putting that on, would also be a great addition!
But went with the “throwback” sniper maps to sort of tie in with the anniversary theme.

The signature suit with gloves is my favourite. Love the Silent Assssin/Contracts suit & tie however, Blood Money is a very, very close second for me!
