This is disappointing, IOI. Quite disappointing.
It could be worse. You could be even more disappointed if after all this hype the roadmap reveals the same general structure as Year 3 had for many of its months: each month 1 new challenge/unlock, a handful of recycled ETs weāve seen several times before, and a community curated Featured contracts batch. Which letās face it, is a pretty realistic prediction (make me eat my words IO, I triple dog dare ya!)
Thatās pretty much all I expected anyway, I just want to know.
Been seeing a frightening lack of āData Bitchā energy from IOI for a while nowā¦
Yāall gotta get better at your organizing game, dudes!
Not like there is an absence of tweets/Xās from people asking about the roadmap for that to have been doneā¦ Fucking stupid.
Is there actually any point to all this complaining other than catharsis? Do we actually think Samir or anyone else at IOI is reading this and thinking āOh right! We totally forgot about the user community! Better get that roadmap out post haste!ā?
I know weāre all disappointed and I know we want to know whatās coming, but come onā¦
Either you actually think that IOI is done with this game and therefore thereās no point in creating a roadmap or you think that thereās actually stuff coming to get excited about, in which case rushing whatever that is will only result in disappointment.
The most likely thing thatās coming is more featured contracts, more elusive target re-activations, and maybe an occasional unlock or challenge. Itāll be here when itās here.
Same. I know what itās most likeliest to be which is just a few FCs and ETs that weāve seen so many times, but it would be still great to get solid information on what to expect!
Fine by me if they reply to themselves, as long as we get a new roadmap and as long as I get Grey back
And I guess itās something many companies do, but they use bots or they use second accounts. Itās not really like they check every comment
Its not really about the roadmap itself.
Its really about the ass backwards way IO has with communicating with its player base at all. If refreshing the IO communications team wasnāt enough to change the terrible communication out of IO, then the only thing left to do is constant criticism so that Samir and other people at IO are made aware that there is actually an issue that needs to be addressed.
Even if World of Assassination is towards the end of its life, a new trajectory can be set for future communications for those that are going to follow along with Project 007 and other things they have in the works.
In fairness, as far as Iām aware, none of the other big game companies communicate with their base as directly as IOI have. I could be wrong on that, but Iāve heard of nothing like that happening with Nintendo or Capcom or Ubisoft or Rockstar, or anybody else. So, if anything, itās a privilege weāve had, to have gotten what weāve had. I just think it would be the courtesy thing for them to let us know if that era is now at an end, or will at least be diminished. That way, weāll at least be less disappointed from the perspective of not comparing it to past communications and wonder what happened.
@thrison and @Heisenberg those are fair arguments. I think that IOI should be made aware of the disappointment that fans of their game have had in the last months (years?) regarding communication and I hope they would understand that one of the core reasons that we are complaining is that they, themselves, set the bar for communications in the years following the initial release of the game.
Monthly roadmaps that became seasonal, video blogs and Q&As that simply disappeared, and frequent collaboration on this forum that seemingly dried up over the last year left a lot to be desired, for sure.
I think weāve established that at this point though and further discussion is just āmore of the sameā. Legitimate issues absolutely should still be discussed though, to be clear.
I donāt mind waiting. Year 3 spring roadmap was released only mid-march. And it was fine.
This month is probably just ETs, and maybe another FC batch. Again itās fine by me.
And then maybe we will have a bit more content, and original content. That might be disclosed at the right time. Great if so, it was a good ride if not.
Besides, priority might be 007, and I canāt imagine the workload.
What I do mind is the Soonā¢ teasing that hints at release of the roadmap this week. It technically can be read otherwise, and is not wrong. But we we know what the reasonable reading of it is.
It;s either not an adequate communication, which I can sympathise for but have to signal, or making a kind of play that I do not care for.
To be honest, I think it will be early March we get the Spring 2024 roadmap to be honest. With Easter approaching, I hope this is part of the Spring roadmap for Freelancerā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦
IOI need to put me out of my misery haha
Remember, soon spelled backwards is noos(e). I donāt know why thatās relevant.
IO sure is keeping us in suspense for probably a new garbage suit, 2 reskinned items tied to a grindy challenge, and the 100th rerun of the collector and the deceivers elusive targets!!
This is my prediction. Iāve lost all hope.
All hope is lost; thatās one of the defining characteristics of hope. If hope becomes real, itās not hope; itās reality. If it never becomes real, then itās hope that goes away as unmatching reality sets in.
That sounds very something-ist, though I know not what (I donāt care either so no one needs to specify). I prefer a nice realistic outlook over hoping for pipe-dreams, personally.
Never thought Iād see Heisenberg turn into Monokuma one day :x
Whatever that is.
