For die hard fans, it sure was a disappointment, even more since you cannot redo the targets you missed. I really was expecting something bigger, not just a reactivation, a new mode, even a temporary one would have been a great gesture.
The trilogy (the games, separately sold or put together) clearly is a success, so much that they follow up with 3 years of content. I wish they could (have) plan(ned) as many years as needed until their new game is out. Because no matter what they new game will be, they are to be expected now.
But why were you expecting that? It was originally announced in Spring (when we first learned of it) that the Galore would be reactivations of the Year 2 ETs and then that later changed to the Year 3 editions. Expectations in that regard were well managed.
The bad choices with the Galore lie elsewhere imo.
Yeah it would be cool if we could have roadmaps until the next game. Personally I think Year 4 will be our last year of content as then IOI will likely have full focus on Bond (007). With the success of the WOA Trilogy, thatâs why IOI made and gave us Freelancer, which I think was also released to tied us over until the next game comes out
If so, then theyâve got a shitload of stuff they need to get out in that time. All remaining unlocks, be they suits, items or weapons, making ETs permanent, and making all content available offline. Not to mention making Holiday Hoarders and Hokkaido Snow Festival able to goddamned save.
If they donât want people pissed at them when content is lost the day they eventually shut down the servers because they kept it tied to online accessibility, it will. Ubisoft is already making that mistake.
Ubisoft is also already making a lot of worse mistakes, has made a lot of people furious, but sadly it doesnât prevent them from continuing to sell their games
I believe the servers are not going down anytime soon. I believe we have at least 6 more years in front of us. BUT but⌠when that day comes and they shut down the servers. They better have a plan for a full offline mode with all the content and no cut offs.
Said it before and Iâll say it again, the WoA is the best game(s) in the franchise by light years and we should all praise IOI to the heavens for making something that makes us all so happy.
But if there isnât a patch done to allow offline play of all the âsingle playerâ content in the trilogy (ie. just about everything other than Contracts mode) by the time that everyone at IOI stops working on the game then thatâs unacceptable from IOI and we should all be grabbing our pitchforks and making them hurt on the next game release.
We donât know anything yet. Either way, if IOI donât enable offline mode, the WOA servers wouldnât shut down until the next big AAA Hitman game launched anyway.
