Batman vs the Mob is so fucking boring and i really, really, really hope that the new Batman Movie will feature a more “fantastical” villain like Clayface, Killer Croc or HARDAC.
And he’s still getting new ones on the regular. I swear he’s got the largest, ever-growing villain gallery of any superhero I’ve ever seen. I’m like “Goddamn, share the wealth with the rest of the DC heros!”
Yeah. I mean, he’s already got the best rogues gallery of any character ever just off of the Joker, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze and Ra’s al Ghul. Right there, you’ve got an entire franchise at your fingertips. Throw in everyone else and goddamn!
Number 4 is gonna be rather difficult, considering he’s supposed to be dead. Like, for real this time. Don’t know how they’re gonna walk that one back without retconning the shit out of it.
They’re definitely just going to retcon it, they’ve indicated in interviews that it’s going to pick back up exactly where NB left off and that he survived. Viewers hated the ending so they’re trying again (again). Which is unfortunate, because the ending they came up with for NB was quite poetic and I don’t really see them outdoing it tbh. That said I’m up for more Dexter because why not.
I guess technically we didn’t get confirmation that he died, but that was the intent. I only don’t like how it ended in that it finally made Dexter kill someone who didn’t deserve it and he wasn’t apologetic about it, completely out of character for him.
Tried watching the new netflix Tomb Raider animated series, but I don’t think I’ll watch past the first episode.
The animation can look a little stiff at times, and the writing can be weird… scene pacing feels strange to me, and there’s a lot of dialogue-less scenes in the episode with Lara just, sighing a whole bunch.
Hayley Atwell does the voice for Lara and it seems like she’s doing a great job already, and the show takes place after the continuity of the modern games, which is neat (though I’ve only ever played the first)
But… ehh, this isn’t my show.
I’m glad I stuck around for a pretty cool fight scene/chase scene though! (And to the person who uploaded this without getting taken down yet)
I’ve watched the whole season and i think it’s alright.
The Last Of Us and Fallout are going to take one hell of a beating, one hell of a beating!
Basically I’m taking this as a 100% confirmation that a TV series is going to happen. There’s “some interest” basically = absolutely guaranteed.
Watching The End of Time, the last 2 episodes of David Tennant’s first run in Doctor Who.
And who should appear but one charming british actor, David Harewood himself! And he’s so young!
God damn man, I’ve seen him before I even knew him from Alan Wake 2 this whole time!!
Edit: other than that, uh, oof, The End of Time Part 1 is a tonal mess. Ridiculous ressurection rituals in the first 15 mins to bring back “the Master/Harold Saxon” because of a weird human cult, a lot of coincidences that are left unexplained in the episode, Barack Obama being a part of the key events (with an actor stand-in) the absolute cheesy “the Master Race” scene (and every other John Simm scene in this one)
Gosh, yikes. RTD doesn’t really do finales well in my opinion and often relies on incredibly convenient (if slightly set-up) deus-ex machinas to solve/push things into place. But wow, this is the RTD “finale” episode to end all finale episodes, its so weird and silly
From what I remember Part 2 is a more enjoyable and memorable episode, hopefully…
A new LEGO marvel show is coming out tomorrow on Disney+ and one of the clips has Jeff in it please let him appear in a set or the thing it’s been a while since he was in one
A series based on “The Day of the Jackal” (1971 novel by Frederick Forsyth and 1973 movie) is coming in November. Don’t remember hearing much about it while it was in production and had almost forgotten about it.
Not sure how well this works as a series, but I like the cast and plan to check it out.
Some of it seems a bit Hitman-esque. Of course, you can say that about pretty much any story about an assassin who can take out anyone no matter how hard they are to get to and charges an extreme price for it.
Well, the flagship single for The Avengers was Comeback by the Redlight King, so…
I feel like “The Vanishing Of” has whoever’s name blanked out there. I wonder which cast member might be in trouble there, huh…
Pretty neat though, I hope they stick the landing!
So far for me it’s been:
2 > 1 > 4 > 3
It’s all still good and fun, but the ever-increasing stakes, the “human main threat” of the Upside Down and sudden hard focus on the Cold War style US vs Russia conflict, has stumbled a little while doing that.
(And the formulaic, depressing, “likeable, innocent side character gets introduced, then killed off later on” is a little annoying to notice on rewatches)
Day of the Jackal (2024) is pretty good so far. It’s in modern settings instead of 1960s, which I am happy about because a faithful adaptation probably wouldnt live up to the Jackal I had imagined as a reader.
