You still compare their appearance by having some glasses, some hat, the beard and pose, right? Would Dubai’s killer be a Leon reference if he had some hat, the beard and tinted glasses?
Not sure that works implicitly. There are such characters but I can only come up with examples where they are the opposite of a character that is also from their universe, like Wario, Bizarro and other direct rivals of the main character.
It would have worked better (for me) if IO had put Leon’s potted plant in the Kashmirian’s appartment or some note like “What would Leon do” on the boards. Something that tells us, he idolizes Leon, just hilariously fails at being like him. But I am not into tropes enough to give the obvious examples.
Again, it’s because of how close the resemblance is, it doesn’t have to be exact. The Holiday Hoarders don’t look exactly like the Wet Bandits, but that’s who they are supposed to resemble. It’s not just because the Kashmirian is wearing a hat and some kind of sunglasses, it’s because the ones he’s wearing, while not the same, are close enough along with his beard and profession to bring Leon to mind easily if you are familiar with the character (which I was not until I first saw the movie last year). Obviously just having any hat and glasses would not result in the same; if he were wearing a top hat, a cowboy hat, or a devo hat, it wouldn’t make me think of Leon. If he were wearing Elton John’s pink star-shaped sunglasses it wouldn’t bring Leon to mind. But the old-school style cap (don’t know what those are called) and generic sunglasses, combined with his facial hair and even a bit of his skin tone, adding in that he’s a professional killer, sell the idea. I came across an image of him last night and boom, Leon immediacy popped into my mind and I realized the similarity for the first time, and how it was too on the nose to make coincidence likely.
I see, again I can only speak for myself and don’t want to claim you are wrong. If dozens would jump in here and say you are right, then IO did a good job referring to Leon here. And as not a dozen people come here to side with me, I guess we can’t be sure what the intention is.
Leon wears something like a fishermen’s beanie, the Kashmirian a flat cap. So while looking very different, they indeed have the same rough background of being used by the worker class in the time of Leon and before that in the western world.
But for the Kashmirian it seems more a fashion accessoir to me due the age and location of the mission. Probably has a pricetag that fits the suit.
The sunglasses are indeed generic for both. Round ones were more in fashion last century so maybe these American ones would be what Leon wore today as well. Though the round ones fit him much better.
Regarding the skin, eh let’s give the fault here the lightning and artistic approach of the Leon poster, as Jean Reno really has not the Indian skin tone of the Kashmirian.
I can’t say I see the resemblance between Leon and the Kashmirian. I never even thought of the two characters as similar, like Wet bandits and tge holiday hoarders.
But a poll might be able shred some light on this question.
Does the Kashmirian remind you of Léon from The Professionel
If NPC is sick, and goes into toilet where Liza McKenzie is talking on phone, she will actually be considerable enough to leave, and allow me to eliminate my target.
Richard Stemp, VA of Edward Carlisle, also studied and lectured art studies (although not music but rather sculptures and paintings) and even narrated and presented series for London Art Studies. Here he is talking about Paris.
The tie on the signature suit keeps clipping through 47’s jacket, especially when he is hiding against a wall, but the Blood Money suit’s tie does not appear to do that.
Well the BM suit is the same as it was in H2016, it had no clipping issues in the first place. While the signature suit (as well as its reskins like the Bruiser or Agent 17) uses the new model that has that problem since the release of H3 if I remember correctly.
There is dialogue for Grey talking to 47 if you simply take a photo of Hans Lucht alive after you accept the Zana Kazem Mission Story. I won’t spoil what he says, but it’s interesting they added this, as taking a photo of Hans alive is not something that’s going to come naturally to a player.
Also a bit weird that he calls 47, well, Number 47 here, and nowhere else in H2 or 3.
This feels more like a mistake rather than an intentional choice, It’s partly why I thought it was unused for so long, because Grey never calls 47 that.
