All Star Wars films are full of awesome scenes, fights and iconic locations. There is always something to love, some of the films are just tapped together by cool moments, enough to drown out the bad.
In all seriousness I love ep.2 and 9. I do recognise why they are less than stellar when it comes to writing, phasing, storytelling.
For the past 7-10 years I been waking up a 5 a.m in the weekends, just to get shit done. Working out, cleaning, getting shit done. The little one is just a new entry on the Norseman morning routine. When she gets older Iâll still be doing this. Also Norseman needs no coffee, all natural energy.
But two in the morning, is very possible. I wake early, I sleep early.
You say that like thereâs a war between Star Wars fans and Star Trek fans. There is a war between man children. Also Star Wars âfansâ are far too busy fighting amongst themselves. Crying over Rey, Kathleen Kennedy, TLJ and whatever they deem woke.
Iâll have to take your word on that, but it doesnât seem like it to me, with my admittedly limited exposure to it. It might be an actual movie, but is it the right movie? Then again, that whole trilogy had that issue from its foundation. Wanna step in, Dr. Malcom?
âDisney was so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didnât stop to think if they should.â
I also function with no coffee, I am bean free. Not like all of those slaves to the (literal) grind.
That is good(?) At the very least it is a sign of emotional intelligence and maturity that most fans donât exhibit.
I dunno I always thought the prequels were overchoreographed, I can see why people like it but I think I respond better to the slower fights from the OGs, it is kind of like a medieval pulp novel or a samurai film like those that Star Wars drew inspiration from.
Long ago there was a war but those were the old days, days so old I mythologise them in my head. Those where the days when people wore platform heels a mile high, slept on water, could have mustaches that looked a walrus baleen, disco was king and you would murder someone who took the last expensive tankâs worth of petrol in the pump.
Fs in chat to all the victims of the Culture War. The ones that survived are still fighting it every day in their minds (They have not mentally grown since 2016)
Turns out the true Star Wars were the virtual slapfights we held along the way!
That âwhatever they deem wokeâ list is pretty long.
The foundation does have issues, but I mainly believe it due to Lucasfilms reactionary approach to 9 after ep.8. Firing Colin Trevorrow and starting the treatment for the film over again. The original ep.9 felt a lot more like a natural continuation of ep.7 and 8. Incorporating what both J.J and Rain setup in their films.
I would still suggest seeing the new trilogy. Is it as bad as people make out to be? No. Itâs divisive, just like the prequels and if we dig deeper. So was the original trilogy back when it was released, specifically Empire and Return. Something many are happy to ignore and forget. Then an again, opinions on pop culture phenomena before the internet, doesnât really have a lot of sway in todays un-nuanced discussion on pop culture.
Does it suffer from other problems than the two other trilogies? Indeed it does. It just made out to be a lot worse then it is.
Honestly, A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back are the only worthwhile Star Wars films; maybe a few scenes in Return of the Jedi. They should re-release the theatrical versions. The rest are corrupted by shameless consumerism, ropey plotting, and vacuous characterisation.
I lost interest years ago.
Anyway, letâs get back to funny pictures, and a reference to a much better franchise.
ROTJ is the greatest Movie of the whole saga, Jabbas Palace is amazing, the Battle of Endor is great, the Spacebattle and sequence within the Death Star ll, the BEST FUCKING LIGHTSABER DUEL IN THE WHOLE FRANCHISE, great special effects⊠Whats your problem
Me furiously trying to remember if the British Empire destroyed any tall architectural marvel throughout itâs history and ticks indeed all the boxesâŠ
