Simple Mod Framework

Not sure if this is one for @AnthonyFuller or @Atampy26, but since the December 2024 game update and an update to the latest version of the SMF (2.33.21), the Anthony’s mod “The Modest Freelancer Suit” is no longer working in SMF for me - tested with all other mods disabled.

IOI changed the internal make up of that suit MASSIVELY. It’s like a complete re-make from the ground up with new entity ids. They also changed (more like broke) the shirt colour, by missing a field out of the shirt’s material override. Update is out on Nexus now, no auto updating as I never thought I’d have to update this mod.

Also (and I’m really sorry to bother you) @Atampy26 I’ve seen that the SMF is giving a hard-stop “You’re not using the correct version of the game” error if users have edited the Hitman.exe file with a hex editor to apply the Ansel free camera + no collision fixes (changing 83 F8 0F 75 1C 0F 54 => 83 F8 0F EB 1C 0F 54 for the Free Cam, and E8 6D 0C 00 00 => 90 90 90 90 90 for No Collisions).

It’s a proper First World problem that I can totally work around (apply required mods in SMF first, and only THEN go and make the above hex edits), but I remember in previous versions of SMF the software allowed those hex edits without giving a “wrong version of the game” error, but that error now happens again in 2.33.21. If it’s an easy enough fix (and I have no idea either way), please could you re-enable SMF to work with this? Thanks for making such an awesome tool, either way. :+1:

I quote myself from when I updated SMF:

All ansel patches excluded due to large changes to the exe, ansel unlock apparently finds the pattern and patches but I cannot confirm this so I am not pushing them.

No collision patch did not apply so it has changed, IOI made some big changes to the exe by changing compiler options.

Thanks AF, I didn’t realise there was an Ansel Unlock mod so I guess I’ll see if this gets updated. Wish I had the skills/knowledge to work this stuff out myself and contribute to the community, but I don’t think I have the chops to learn the relevant skills.

Hi, I’ve gotten a error message after trying to update SMF and I got told to come here to let the developer of the Mod Manager to take a look at.

The Error message in question is:

“Error Command failed “…\Third-Party\7z.exe” x “./tempArchive” - aoa -y -o”./staging"
ERROR: .\tempArchive
Cannot Open the file as archive"

I have no idea what It might of caused, Any help would be greatly appreciated :grin:

Hey, Atampy knows about it and is fixing it. Try again in 30 minutes, it’s not a critical update.

More logs:

Reinstalled SMF, cleaned cache and %localappdata%, deleted config.json file, using clean HITMAN files (no additional RPKGs and no corrupted files), trying older SMF version, the error still happening, but with some mods only :person_facepalming:

It could be related to textures and entity patches.json but i’m not sure.

Also after looking deeper on the internet it might be something related to the program but nothing sure.

Other mods deploy successfully like usual after removing the faulty mods.

Examples of faulty mods:

  • 47 in pajamas
  • A new deal winter coat
  • Ghostface
  • Taser mod
  • Legacy agency pickups
  • Vampire magician outfit

Any ideas about what could cause this?

When i deployed Time of day it took me 3 hours without finish.
when i disabled Time of day its been deploy good for like 10-7 minutes
Maybe its your problem too

If it’s the one from nexus that’s long outdated and don’t think that will deploy. Same with Legacy Agency Pickups. Use the updated version, LAP Reborn, by musicalmushroom.
And the latest update of SMF.

There is no updated Ghostface on Nexus, but it’s fixable if you tinker with it enough - I’ve done it, but I don’t want to share without permission from September, and they aren’t active anymore I believe.

Can you tell me in PMs how to fix the files for other mods please?
My SMF seems still bugged btw, looking for other ideas to solve the issue :+1:

I updated the mod manager and left it for aprox 10 mins came back and it said i cant update because it cant extract the files is there any way i could fix this

Hello everyone and @Atampy26 . I just updated the game, but had to reinstall from steam and delete dinput8.dll in the same manner as the folks in this thread: 💀 Dec. 12th, 2024 Update, Game not starting [FIXED] - #4 by 40ozKilla. Unfortunately, it has cause SMF to go crazy. Even after reinstall it gives me this error "ERROR Unknown game version. If the game has recently updated, the framework will need to be patched by its developers. If you’re using a cracked version of the game, that’s the problem.

Does anyone know why this is happening? It also refuses to recognize the accent overhaul mod. If anyone could provide any help or advice I would be highly appreciative.

The game got a patch so SMF probably needs an update again.
