Also does the same on the steam version I have
Yeah I’ve done that
……………………………
Sorry for the late reply; that undeletable folder is a known issue which I did attempt to fix before but it still happens - you can remove it with the command rmdir "\\.\C:\<whatever the path is>" /s /q
.
Also, if you haven’t already, try running SMF as administrator
Yes! Thank you!
Now… As for running SMF as Administrator…
The ‘Mod Manager’ gives me an error about the path not being found.
Doing this with the ‘Deploy’ (tool?)… When I get into the game the only thing I get is the skip intro.
I’ll heed K_Rudd’s advice and download the “new” version.
I’ve (re)downloaded SMF from the Nexus website.
Question: Should I delete (almost) everything associated with the current SMF in its folder (as if doing a clean “install”)?
Answer: YES. And verify your game files in steam/epic before “reinstalling”.
Final Edit
I’m still too afraid to touch (e.g. deploy) FLV. I’ll still need to use piepie’s site and get that SDK thingy. So there’s still some potential to royally fuck things up (again).
Again, sorry for the trouble, and Thanks for your patience.
Is there any way to run Simple Mod Framework on Linux? I’ve gotten the installer to run but the only issue is that it cannot detect a directory for Hitman 3 and therefore blocks me from manually selecting the directory.
Question. If the ‘Skip Intro’ is active, does the game first have a black screen for 3 or 4 seconds and then the title screen appears?
Or should the title screen appear without having to wait for a black screen to pass?
I know it’s not supposed to have the IOI logo and “we’re a diverse team, fyi” screen. But the short time the black screen was there didn’t seem right. Unless I’m mistaken and that’s normal for the ‘Intro Skip’ mod.
I think the black screen is just the game loading all the bare minimum requirements to display the main menu - I get it too.
I need help for Hitman freelancer variation from nexus mod.
Why does mine says: make sure u select mod ZIP or rpk mod help, im new mod user too and i have downloaded SDK and why it doesnt let me Aply it

is there gamepass support
Yes. I’ve been using SMF with the game pass version for months.
thanks
man i really need help and i was thinking it was the gamepass that was not working
hello im having a problem with loader not finding the file and im using xbox i put the file in the game and i redownloaded it but it still can the file if anyone can help me fix it that would be great
Be on PC. That’s the only way SMF will work.
im on xbox pc app not xbox
Hmm. Is it like an XBOX emulator that runs on PC? Or does this have something to do with xbox gamepass?
it has something to do with game pass its not a emulator
EDIT: for anyone else habing this problem, put steam in offline mode…
this question has most likely already been asked i just cant find it, im getting an error that says “lets find your game folder” and that i dont own hitman 3 (altough i do, i bought it today off steam)
Hello! I am trying to use this on the Steam Deck, the exe runs but the game detection doesn’t. It would be great if this framework had a way to locate the game with file browser. I have the game on Epic Games store, so I have added the Epic Launcher as a non steam game and then I launch Hitman when it opens. Works fine as all my other games. Thing is, Simple Mod Framework understandably won’t find my install location to save its life. I understand that this framework just streamlines a process that could be done manually, before this framework came along people were still able to mod the game but it was more difficult. Can somebody please share the knowledge on how to install mods manually? I’d greatly appreciate it.
The framework’s mod manager, which is necessary for most operations, doesn’t work under Wine last I checked unfortunately so adding manual game selection wouldn’t really help.
It’s technically possible to compile mods manually but for most SMF mods manual installation is very time consuming. If you have another computer with Hitman installed, you could use SMF with that and copy across the chunkXpatch300.rpkg
files that it creates, as well as Retail\thumbs.dat
and Runtime\packagedefinition.txt
to your Steam Deck.
Thank you for the response! Ok I will try that. Do those files differ between versions? I mean if I generate chunkXpatch300.rpkg, Retail\thumbs.dat and Runtime\packagedefinition.txt for the Xbox App version can I use them on the Epic Store Version?
