This should now be fixed.
You may need to remove the Simple Mod Framework folder in your game folder if the installer previously crashed when trying to install it.

Hello Atampy and thanks for this interesting tool!
However i couldn’t find any documentation regarding using this program and modding in general.
I’ve managed to learn some stuff by myself but it’s still a lot complicated to understand everything.
Let me know if you have some tips and documentation to share.
I’ve also had an issue regarding a modification of your mod, requesting your permission to puslish it. Please check your private messages on nexusmods/discord.
Cheers!
Thank you for your help! The Framework installed just fine, but when I go to Enable/Disable mods, nothing appears after that, just the gray background. All the other tabs like the main menu and the mod settings appear just fine, but the enable/disable screen shows nothing. For reference:
Hi, I tried downloading the latest version and installing it but the error “expected value at line 1 column 1” shows up. @Atampy26
Edit: I found a solution by running a previous installer. Surprisingly, it managed to install the latest version.
The documentation is viewable from the “View the documentation” link under mod authoring or by clicking the book icon on the sidebar (both require developer mode to be enabled which is prompted when you first install SMF and can also be changed through the Info page).
Could you press CTRL-SHIFT-I, go to Console and screenshot whatever errors show up?
Edit: I did seem to fix the mod menu not loading up, but when i install a mod it takes longer than usual to install and when i refresh it goes blank again.
@Atampy26 How do I fix the problem where it says I don’t have the game installed although I do?
If you have the past version, remove the “Simple mod framework” folder. Now you should be able to download it
Thanks! It worked just fine!
Do you know whether your drive where SMF is installed is using the NTFS file system?
Thats the problem! Just formatted my disk to NTFS yesterday and reinstalled hitman 3, Thank you so much!
Is Hitman 3 installed through Steam, Epic or Microsoft (Xbox), and is the Simple Mod Framework already installed?
No it’s a crack and yes Simple Mod Framework is installed
Lmao that’s your issue
Found another bug, can’t seem to delete the SMF folder, tried to do a normal / permanent folder delete. Restarting pc didn’t help, disabling all mods or deleting all mods, nothing worked its just stuck in there now.
Got the latest version
Doesn’t effect game at all but just a bit weird.
What do you mean by not being able to delete it?
I press delete, windows asks if I really want to permanently delete the folder I press yes, and the folder is still there.
Actually now that I think about it, it might just be a windows issue.
I’ll see if I can delete it some other way.
(Edit) I can delete it now, it was just windows being weird
(Edit 2) Nvm it wasn’t SMF it was the Ultimate Lighting mod, cache folder that is bugged, says path not found even though its there, so that’s why I can’t delete the SMF folder, had to go trough safe mode to find out
(Final Edit) Folder was really stuck, so I just formatted the drive I was thinking about doing that anyway.
