Season of The Splitter - December 12th 2024 - January 12th 2025

I am still against this approach with subscription based drops.

However, when I tuned in for your stream for the Purple Baller, I decide to subscribe as I have watched your streams for all the other drops this year. I thought of it as a tip and thank you. I guess the Xmas season infected me.

That said, I will not be continuing my subscription and very much doubt I would do it again.

Trying to make abstraction of your aggressive tone here.

I was talking about hoops, not impossible. What you described are all very much hoops.

The examples of people not finding their drop rewards in their inventories, not finding the twitch drop unlocks in the first place, their view time not being counted, etc etc are numerous enough I didn’t think I’d need to elaborate on the last point you wanted me to elaborate on.

I understand where you are coming from. Im not sure/dont think the same people responsible for the cake are the same people who fix bugs etc, but thats a wild guess. I also think its a small exaggeration to state that it ruined the gameplay experience (it was one potential spot for a safe, on 1 map) and they fixed it with the very next patch.

I also dont see where they are stating that you should be thankful for supporting streamers.

But regardless, i fully understand your feeling, and i also hope things will be better in year 5 in several regards. I also expected much more for/from the missing coin solution.

Thats very much appreciated, thank you!

Cheers on that! (may I convert you? :grinning: )

Yeah, I used too violent language for my points. It’s fair to push back.
Thanks for seeing the point behind them.

In the end, I think it’s a question of good will from the community.
Community drops and subs are build on it. And cashing on it is normal for IOI. It’s the way to do for the streamers (subs), for the game (more streams, more viewers), and in a way the players (participating socially and a suit).

I personally have a fair amount of good will toward the game and IOI. I’m a regular on this forum for an initial reason.

In Year 4, I just spent it all. I spent it on seeing McGreggor be hyped and welcomed, on the Pinot Noir and other bad unlocks, on Fortnite and silly only aesthetics, on disappointment in roadmaps.
That’s for me.
Others have, in potential addition or swap, the uncommunicated ETs (some lost their perfect record), the glitch FCs, the saving bug on PS5, the breaking of disguises and suits, etc…

So when December arrived. No more good will to cash in. And backlash.

I know it’s all a bit unfair to the way the actual production, decisions, and affiliated resources and pipelines go.
But that’s how it is. No way around it. It’s management. Maybe Year 4 was the best possible. But it wasn’t good.

Gosh, that’s so cheesy.

“Ah, yes, I am a super-smart crazy media CEO with all the know-how of tech! [tap-tap]
Watch as I flip through this video call with my impressive tech! [tap-tap]
OH, hold on, I’m getting a very important conversation here, excuse me [tap-tap]

Anyway I think I will stream my first playthrough of The Splitter for maybe an hour or two at 5pm ET – 1hr from now! And if I somehow see all I want to see/complete the mission earlier than I’d like, I’ll probably continue with Freelancer for a little bit. So look out for that, people who somehow don’t have the Purple Gun yet!

Well, that is pleasing to hear, good to see that they are attending to the issue and letting us know. It took a week, but I’d say that’s actually decent timing, since it let us report all the issues and find out what went wrong. Bonus points for resetting it for those who already failed. Give the team a thumbs-up, @Combatglue. Does this mean those who completed it successfully will also be reset, or just those that failed? I’m not sure if it’s clear on that, although I might be reading it wrong.

I’ve only played the Arcade version, so I’m still gonna wait and see if any other issues crop up for other players before attempting the mission proper.

Sincere applause to that.

(@Guillermo_Murillo I think you will appreciate it even more)

Plot twist: This update breaks the freelancer coin again.

I kid, I kid.

As I’ve heard, this ET was the resurrection of a concept that was previously worked on that required 47 to kill a bunch of clones in the facility and to that end it is in essence a re-skin and touch-up of something that likely never received full QA.

Hats off to whoever originally worked on it, this is easily the most creative ET ever, and it owes it all to the fact it’s trampolining off of an abandoned story concept.

I am glad that those who failed the mission due to a bad glitch is getting their retry! And this is confirmation that they are very much able to reset ET mission statuses to deal with glitches such as these.

Hope that those who failed the mission can now truly enjoy this mission!

Splitter Elusive Target’s mission status will reset for every player who failed the mission

if you had failed the mission […] you will be able to attempt to complete it once more.

It looks to me as if it’s only going to be reactivated if you failed it, not if you successfully completed it. That’s how I read it anyway.

Though it doesn’t definitively say that’s the case, I would say it’s a safe bet. But I really don’t know how it works, they might just ‘flip a switch’ to make it active again for everyone.

I believe that would be, certainly among others, Martin Ansdal. He is also the Mendoza Track Owner.

As for who worked on it for the ET, Louis who appeared in the test stream is one of them.
(I cannot find his full name unfortunately).

Strange that the patch is released at 10AM on Friday, but the reset applies to anyone that fails it up until 4PM on Friday. So there is a six hour window where you can fail for the first time and get a replay.

Indeed I do!!

I had already lose all hope after they emailed me saying a reactivation wasn’t possible, so this is a fantastic surprise. My perfect track record restored again, my mind is at peace. I’ll still stay far away from the shooting range just in case.

Thanks for the tag btw, I wouldn’t have found out otherwise.

The question then is, if it’s possible for them to actually reset an ET to give people who failed it a second chance, why the heck have they done the duplicate Year X versions of ETs all this time instead of just rerunning the older versions giving both new players and those who failed it another chance to do it?

They think people that already completed them enjoy replaying them again.

I usually just cheese them with the tranq glitch over and over.

Hey,
We are looking into BlueSky, I have been out sick this week, so I have not followed up on it yet.

The plan for our streams is pretty simple; since we have several projects, we will now stream on the HITMAN channel when it’s only about HITMAN and on the IOI channel when it’s about the studio or cross projects.
