Damn almost with in a week. George Pere passed a few hours ago after complications due to terminal cancer, he was fighting it for at least a half a year or so.
Aside from Infinity Gauntlet and Crisis on Infinite Earths, he was also behind the definitive Batman depiction (the grey suited one) and he also overhauled the Teen Titans costumes.

Holy crap. A bit disturbing, what is that? It clearly is meant to evoke a skull image, but it also kind of looks like a plate of bacon and eggs seen through infrared light.
