We cannot forget the WoA nerf taking place in this year’s iteration of the contest - in the form of voters who have only played WoA, and therefore only vote on WoA.

I have proven (as above) that I understand why you vote the way you do. I find it absurdly stupid. You are knowingly downvoting a map you consider to be “a masterpiece” purely due to your own, self-imposed rules, which bear no resemblance to the point of this competition.

It’s like turning up for a football match, repeatedly firing the ball into your own net, and then - as your teammates scream at you for being a moron - you respond, “ohhh, no, you just don’t understand! That’s my algorithm for playing football. I only kick the ball into my own net. Those are the rules I play by, and it’s not my fault if that causes us to lose the match”.

Comparing this match with football is completely wrong; In football, we fight for the team’s victory, but in this match, we are looking for the best maps for this group; I just vote for the best map and give my opinion; I can’t and I don’t want to remove New York; The rest of the group consider New York to be inferior to Hitman’s old maps; Just as India removed the masterpiece, they want to remove the New York masterpiece; And since I have no right to subtract from old maps, I have to subtract from New York

I don’t. Neither does @Silvereyes or @BlobSponge. The three of us have all upvoted New York today. But that only gives us a combined +3 points.

Now, let’s examine today’s downvotes.

@magicdave94 & @MrOchoa both gave New York -2. So, I guess you could say they consider New York inferior to the older levels. Fair enough.

@Danger_dog_guy_7 gave -1 each to Lee Hong and New York, so that’s considering them equal.

Then there’s you and @thefixer47. Each of you are WoA-only players, following your own set of rules to vote only on WoA maps. Therefore your votes do not represent any value judgement about New York in comparison with older levels.

So, of everyone voting so far today, 3 people support New York, whilst only 2 people can be said to “consider it inferior” to older maps. There’s clearly no consensus view about New York. If anything, consensus is erring on the side of supporting New York at present, with 3 people endorsing it.

But New York has received -9 in downvotes today. To be clear, It’s getting -4 votes per day from people who have never played any of the older games.

@hitman_fan - your downvotes are working to ensure New York loses out to older levels, even though you’re not capable of making an informed decision about their relative value yourself. I reiterate what I have said before: IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO “ABSTAIN” FROM VOTING ON THE OLDER LEVELS.

By continuing to vote, you are making an active choice - whether you like it or not - to save an older level and relegate a WoA map in its place. YOU ARE CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN. YOU ARE IMPACTING THE GAME. YOU ARE - UNWITTINGLY - VOTING TO SAVE AN OLDER MAP.

To be clear, I am 100% not recommending they downvote levels they haven’t played. I am suggesting they should abstain from voting altogether.

I’m fine with New York going out - but would prefer if it wasn’t losing -4 per day from people who’ve never played Lee Hong and don’t understand why they’re saving it.
