This whole song and dance has somehow frustrated me more than the game does somehow. It’s like trying to thread a needle while experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
Still somewhat funny though

Well that is because you think it is pageantry of course you are going to get sick of it, I have been treating it like a title fight from Rocky so no matter how tired I get I gotta push through.

I actually want Mumbai to go through because, spoiler alert, it is better than half the levels here. Most of which are only here because of nostalgia

I like Mumbai but I prefer every other level here apart from Lee Hong

So why not use both your points on Lee Hong and leave my poor little Mumbai alone?

Because I’d vote for it after anyway

I actually don’t think this is quite true. We cannot forget the WoA nerf taking place in this year’s iteration of the contest - in the form of voters who have only played WoA, and therefore only vote on WoA.

This means that, whilst we might be seeing some WoA levels accumulate huge point totals by the ends of rounds, we also have disproportionate negative voting on WoA levels too. Any WoA-exclusive voting will, by definition, harm WoA levels overall since it’s a net vote of -1 to WoA every day for each WoA-exclusive voter who participates.

This has had a major impact on these semi-finals. The Mumbai-Marrakesh fight is a perfect example. Both levels tanked point deductions day after day from ‘WoA only’ voters in the early stages of the round. Over time, each level was weakened to the point that they were drawn into a head-to-head duel for survival.

This drew lots of other voters into the Mumbai-Marrakesh fight, as people voted in the hope of protecting their favourite. They perceived downvoting the other weak level as a method for saving their favourite. But - arguably - neither map should have reached this weak state so quickly in the round.

Anyway I won’t bleat on about this further. I just think it’s interesting to observe that there’s more than just nostalgia at play in this seeming misfortune of WoA levels. Ironically - it’s the opposite of nostalgia!

Ah well at least Sapienza has less competition.

You have a point but I don’t know, I was quite happy voting out AHBOS or NY over any of the other ones as I said above. Which supports AK’s suggestion that nostalgia rules.

Why aren’t we eliminating New York? Honestly it is a pretty weak level when you step back and look at it. At best you get a decent target who is fun to kill but ironically there isn’t a lot of fun kills in a very workmanlike level that looks sufficiently pretty.

I think it might actually drop quite quickly tomorrow. I’ll be reducing it.
The only thing I don’t really like about LHA is the bit of Tzun grabbing you after the attempted poisoning.
