EDIT: Nevermind, a side effect of putting in all The Brothers files in is it makes night Mumbai not work for some reason :confused:

Would you want Freeform Training added to Freelancer, even though it’s still a plywood mockup and that makes no sense

i think it could be fun! could pretend that 47 is infiltrating ICA grounds during someone else’s training program to kill some corrupted stand in actors XD

…that being said, it could get repetitive fast because they are very small maps with not much difficulty, and many challenges would become easy (sniper) or impossible (theres no cameras on these maps right?)

Pls, who do you think you’re talking to here. AHBOS didn’t have any cameras but I took care of that. And any new location that’s added must share a slot with an existing Freelancer map, so sometimes the other map would come up anyway, unless you deselect that map.

The fake yacht would at least be placed in a real map, like Miami or something

Honestly I think that since in ICA Facility Yacht level is just a training, it also can work as filming set within some movie studio. I does makes sense to exist at least in my head. Maybe adding a movie crew with some cameras could work to sell the illusion?

By the way I have a pretty weird idea regarding possible Haven Island variant.
I was thinking about possibility of porting over The Politician ET from Hawkes Bay into Tyson Williams villa with unique route for both her and her body double with villa guards reskinned into CICADA guards.

If Atampy ever adds in a certain feature to SMF that they’ve so far resisted, I could put the actual The Politician map in Freelancer :thinking:

Why? Because that’d be a terrible idea. How would that even work for either takedowns and showdowns? Forget about being an alerted territory. Where would suspects/syndicate members escape to? Where would 47 Exit? Would he have to make it all the way to the front train car?

Edit: Not to completely dismiss your… idea(?). But for anything related to Freelancer to work on “the train level” would mean it’d need an extensive overhaul and adding things not even in the original mission. You’d have to have all the cars connecting and traversable by all NPCs. It’d be way too much work, and even if it could be done, or was done - it’d still be a terrible level to play on for FL.

Thought I’d try a weapon lure on a target that walks around in the sniper’s area. But of course not. Got nailed by the guy with his all-seeing eye.

Lesson: Just take the guy out first thing. Bring in your own sniper rifle if you have to.

Having the yacht with proper textures as a variation to a real map would be so cool!

Some dialogue would need to be changed as some NPCs almost broke character in the simulation.

That would take far too long (and still probably look a bit wrong because the ‘boat’ is made of straight edged jagged plywood instead of curved like the real hull of a ship) which is why I’m only asking people’s thoughts of having the plywood set slapped somewhere to play at this stage

Might remove his rifle/stand so he’s just a guy constantly looking through his binoculars (but ironically he can’t actually spot you at in his watchzones). Currently can’t find a way to may him appear in only Alerted territory I don’t think, I’ll try figure out something later

If you’re wondering why it’s taking me so long to put out the next update even though I’ve already done the things I’ve mentioned, it’s because I’m trying to port over Methlab to be playable in H3, where it should be added to World of Tomorrow - Night


It will probably add another 30mb on to the mod but who cares :woman_shrugging:

No ETA yet but I’m most of the way done by now. Plenty of annoying things left to fix tho. I need to undo some weird testing shit IO did, they deleted a lot of crap I don’t want deleted, yadda.

UPDATE: Looks like that’s exactly what happened. Safe is on a table and tablet clue is on the floor in other room lel. Will be fixed in next update which should be out today :crossed_fingers:

Version 1.1 - The Cut Content

It’s been over 1.5 months but I couldn’t leave you hanging any more. This update includes new variants, changed various, fixes, improvements and everything really.

I have made some changes based on various complaints, particularly difficulty in Chongqing, and lighting in some night time variants. I hope people who have disabled these variants now consider re-enabling them, though it probably still won’t be enough as some people are just babies :woman_shrugging:

Changelog

  • Chongqing: Noodle Massacre - Sniper will now miss a couple times (Due to babies)
  • Chongqing: Hard mode guard improvements
  • Haven: Nighttime variant improvements/changes
  • Hokkaido: PZ - Fixed Safe being on a desk and clue being on the floor
  • Marrakesh: Adds The Brothers + Entertainer + Cheveyo Calibration variant (Midday)
  • Marrakesh: Reverts AHBOS showdown to its default soundtrack, instead of Dubai’s
  • Marrakesh: Sunset - Haeverfoek no longer waits forever for Strandberg, who is dead
  • Miami (Night): Takedown now has Silver Tongue NPCs as potential targets
  • Mumbai: Adds Illusions of Grandeur (Non-showdown) variant
  • Mumbai: Hills is now correctly in civilian mode(Except vanilla variant)
  • Mumbai (Night): More lighting added, some daytime ambient sounds replaced with night ones
  • Paris: Midday lighting and wind improvements
  • Sapienza: Improves box reflection cache of Daytime Landslide
  • Sapienza: Night - Adds Methlab (cut content), removes many NPCs, adds ~15 NPCs (some use unused scripts by IO), some lighting improvements, Caruso guard should no longer search the map calling for him

Haven - Night changes in detail:

Filesize almost tripled due to cut content being bundled. If you have the cut content deployed separately it will not deploy twice

Since it adds new variants you will need to update your JSON as well (Nexus or variant picker website)
EDIT: I accidentally uploaded SDK mod made for unreleased version of SDK. Six people have been affected, please re-download the one that says ‘fixed’
