MENDOZA, Argentina (Mission #5) - Location Discussion

You were absolutely right, can’t believe I missed that. Thanks.

The Berlin one genuinely has a bug. I had one area left, found it in the map, cleared it, got an achievement for it, but no challenge.

I think it might just be a bug. I’m sure the cinema had a marker, as that’s how I managed to complete all the Discover challenges. Find all the markers on the map, as the only way to know where I’d gone and hadn’t gone before was through those.

Might be that you disconnected for a short time from the servers and in the interim, you discovered a location, but it didn’t sync with the server.

& @Urben, sadly you can’t make contracts on the doubles. I tried twice but I keep getting an error every time I attempt to play the contract. Also the doubles have different given names.

The error you get for trying to play the contract is related to Mendoza itself. No contracts can be played on that map right now, for whatever reason.

I’ll keep an eye out for this strange contract when this issue gets fixed. :slightly_smiling_face:

The sniper mission story is bugged right? It fails after Vidal gets shot, but it works if I kill her before she gets shot!

Also anyone else hear Diana say “you have very steady hands” while disguised? I swear I’m not hallucinating but I think she might have been flirting with me…

I already made mine as well to post it asap.

I had no issues with it on PC.

I’ve had no issues on PS5 either.

I want to share some thoughts about this map for contracts.

First it is a nice map. I am not sure yet if I would label it as great, but there are some things that bother me:

  • No exit at the entrance.
  • The mansion and mansion ground lack NPCs, especially with disguises other than the Mercenary. So far that part of the map only seems interesting to be sniped from afar.
  • Tango exit seems to be no thing in contract mode, maybe only if you kill the main targets. This creates a void for contract mode there. I often see me jog through the wine fields in my fancy tux.
  • Snipers can only be made shooting one person (without using exploits). It would be OP otherwise, so maybe that is not as bad.
  • Mercenary disguise is OP, there should have been an mansion guard disguise that split the allowed areas of the Mercenary.

But there are many good aspects:

  • Field worker is trespassing the above grounds
  • Sniper rifle lying around
  • Suit lying around
  • Starting locations and pickups are good
  • Seemingly many hidden mechanics I can use for cool puzzles
  • Map is basically a sniper dream

Generally I look forward for this working in contract mode soon.

Yeah I’m excited to toy around with Mendoza too

Yeah I noticed that too, all the staff are female, which rules out stealing disguises. The other interesting aspect of the mansion is the attic and retrieving weapons from there. I just wish they hadn’t put the broadsword there as we already have it as an unlock so can’t build a contract around it

Another issue is maybe just how static all the NPCs are, especially the staff. They just tend to stand still doing their tasks (but that’s always been an issue for a lot of maps)

Yeah, I can think of a few. A lot of good electrocution kills on this map imo. And the firebarrels over by the sniper nest have promise

Yeah, one golden rule for map design should be to put an unique melee item in hard to reach places. There they put the Old Axe there so that is a plus. I think a small melee would not have been wrong as well but it is better than the NY vault containing a Burial Dagger that is also available at a deposit box at much less hassle.

Yeah I do tend to rate at least partially how good a map is for contracts mode based on how many unique melee weapons/outfits it has. But I think we have a fair bit to still choose from in Mendoza

  • Grape Knife
  • Icicle
  • Hatchet
  • Old Axe
  • Machete
  • Shears

So, I’d like to ask. Is there any way to trigger the herald meeting suit only?

Oh nvm, placing the Pinot Noir does the trick.

You are not hallucinating! You can stand beside her in the security room in a variety of disguises and she has custom lines for each of them.

Lol that was the only time I’ve ever blushed while playing this game. Wonder what 47 thought when he heard that :flushed: Now I have to try the other disguises to hear what she has to say haha

If you wait around with her on the viewing platform after you take the invitation, she says “Well, have at it 47” while leaning back on the railing

They’ve both been ramping up the flirting across the WOA trilogy. Telling her he knows her tones (despite not caring about basically anything outside of work), cooing that people should “wrap their lips around this” as Florida Man, co-killing Don Yates and then doing a sexually charged dance together. It’s an unconventional romance but every couple has a different love language :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Plot twist: Absolution takes place after WoA and the girl is their child.
