Btw just noticed that the models and images of the ‘Collector’s’ type of gears are the same as normal ones. So approximately, I guess we have rounded up to get some sort of ‘outstanding service coin’. Wow, that’s… astonishing.
Hello, I was interested in this topic as well for a long time. Actually, it was one of the reasons why I 100% freelancer (screenshot attached)
Also, I got a mod menu to check. All results I got:
- Full challanges add up to nothing. Nothing in crates, nothing in suppliers, etc.
- I tried booting the “items” menu from SDK mod while in Safehouse, which supposed to show all items. My guess was that it was hidden somewhere, like battle axe in Whittleton. Result - game just crashes) Probably from all weapons are too much to handle. I tried clearing everything via prestige, but it didn’t help.
- The last resort - adding it manually. Here is where things are wierd: there are two "ICA Outstanding Coin"s in menu, one is which is… Collectors Coin, another… doesn’t spawn. Same thing happens in main game. It seems to be problem of the menu or copypaste issue from developers: there are also two Siekers and only one of them works.
So, probably this will be a mystery forever…

I recall someone mentioning a while back that the reason the coin doesn’t appear is because its name is spelled incorrectly in the game’s code, so the game is unable to spawn it in.
I highly doubt there’s some incredible mystery or super-secret mechanism to find it. It’s literally just one of the devs fat-fingering and then trolling us by deliberately not fixing it.

That is a false rumour that has been going around for ages. iirc the typo doesn’t affect anything (as the game is filled with typos btw) and the answer is simply that the coin is not on the “list” of items that can appear in the reward crate in the Safehouse or in the suppliers.
@AnthonyFuller should be able to confirm this as he made a mod that allows the coin to appear.

Could you tell if anything happens when you get the coin? I was guessing that there is a “hidden” challange for that: there is a gap on the shelf (first picture) and the result menu is just one challange from being full (last picture from GenP stream, I have the same layout)
Or this challange will be added: previously prestige level did not exist, so my second “argument” wasn’t relevant untill they appear.

Essentially. Although, we don’t think they forgot, we mostly think they held it back on purpose for some reason, but damned if we know.

This coin I swear to god. If someone could add it through a mod, I’m pretty sure IO can easily add it in a patch, or just remove that space altogether. At this point I’m convinced they’re not fixing it on purpose.

It was just a silly bug made by IOI’s carelessness.
The coin is used as an ET reward in H2 (not the ET reward in H6), supposedly. However, it hasn’t been released yet.
This unreleased Outstanding Service Coin is easy to get confused with the Outstanding Performance Coin in H6. And I was also muddled at the beginning until I used a mod that restored the coin to the tool crate.

Unlikely. They’ve intentionally held it back for whatever reason.
After all, using the previously mentioned mod to have it appear in-game it still has its description for its original planned usage as an H2 ET coin. If it was meant to be there now, there is no way they would have left that description there at this point. It would have been changed.

Solved an issue where the ICA Outstanding Service Coin was unavailable in the Freelancer mode.
And that’s that then, we finally got it. Shame it wasn’t an easter egg though…

Question: is it just added to the loot list, drowned in it?
Or was is there a pickup location/cosmetic/challenge?
As patch announced, it’s just to introduce it into the merchants’ pool of trades.
