[IOI Blog Post] Stadia Carryover

This account has already been the target of a HITMAN 2 to HITMAN 3 profile carry-over or Stadia migration.

Uh, okay, I’m concerned.

I bought Hitman 3 on Steam in order to have an account to migrate my Stadia progress to.

I also bought Hitman 1 and 2 because they were on sale, in order to get the H3 access passes. (Before the WOA announcement.) I guess I migrated my (empty) Hitman 2 account into Hitman 3 when I was trying to get the entitlements over, which I realize was probably unnecessary, but…

what. Does this mean I can’t migrate?! I only played Hitman 2 and 3 on Steam for like ten minutes to make sure it was working. I was expecting to overwrite it with my Stadia profile. But now I can’t?!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat

so I’m going to lose my progress?! I know the Stadia transfer is one-time-only, and that makes sense to prevent people from duplicating their progress into multiple profiles on different services, but there doesn’t seem to be any reason that I shouldn’t be allowed to overwrite my Steam account with my Stadia account

is there any way to delete my steam profile so I can overwrite it?

i re-bought all three games in order to do this!

That really sucks. I’m not entirely sure, but I think if you can delete your Steam data, you then might be able to migrate your Stadia progress over to it.

They’ve got a website to do that, I’ve never used it, but it looks to me like it’s platform specific, so you should still have Stadia data to use after it… don’t quote me on this though :hushed:

Wow, thanks for sharing. I never saw that before. I’ll look into it tomorrow. Maybe it will work and maybe it won’t, but it’s much more promising than any idea I had. I appreciate the pointer.

To quote myself, this question is now pretty urgend @Travis_IOI

@PapaLevy, @Hardware Epic and XBoxLive accounts should be visible now, let us know if you run into other issues.

All good, thank you.

@ioi_christianco I also take this time to point out that there is a CSP issue on the page “LOCATION IMPORTING (PC)” on https://account.ioi.dk website.

This causes the page layout to display incorrectly.

That’s a big checkmark !
Thanks a lot for reporting, I’ll share the word internally.

@ioi_christianco While sharing, could you ask about this as well, please?
Usually I’m quite patient, but this is a rather urgent matter right now

I cannot choose Epic. I think that is due to the reason that I did progress transfer from Hitman 2 on Steam to Hitman 3 on Epic.

Hey @FSMcas,

Sorry, I wanted to double check with the team before posting here

Yes all items will be transferred, except for the Stadia specific items as stated in the post.
Items that were present on the target (overwritten) account will be lost, with the exception of items granted through DLC ownership.

If you currently have your ICA Performance Coins and alu briefcase on your stadia account, you will still have them after.
I haven’t checked specifically the PC suits, but platform-exclusives are DLC/ownership driven and should unlock automatically on connection.

Sorry, this is a misunderstanding: The performance coin and the alu briefcase are and have always been unobtainable on Stadia because they were given to you in H2 (and H3 after carryover) based on your account for having bought H1 and doing ETs in H1.

So the question is: I have them on PC, they will be overwritten. Or will I keep them because I did not “earn them” in the recent game but instead got them account-based?
So, are they treated as H3 unlocks that we will lose or are they treated as DLC content that are bound to our accounts and wll therefore stay unlocked?

Alright, yes sorry I misunderstood.

They were granted on the Hitman profile, not through DLC, and as such will be lost if you target that account for migration.

Did you also see my issue?

That’ll be a perfect opportunity to make them unlocks for everyone.

Alright, thank you!

Too bad, but I am still thankful that you offer this service. Keep up the great work!

I gave this a shot – the personal data export is very cool – but the deletion says it will take 30 days, which may be too late. Hopefully it actually happens faster.

I’ve looked up other people’s experiences with this, and they say it only took them about 5-10 minutes until they saw all their progress reset.

I doubt your “10-minutes” of Steam data would take that long – unless there’s some backlog of requests, or it needs a human to verify it.
Best of luck.

You’re right, it looks like it’s already worked! I still have to log in and check the outcome, but it’s letting me migrate to Steam now, and my Stadia profile is still intact. Thanks so much for the pointer!

edit: It seemed to be running correctly, showing my Steam profile as the destination, but I reloaded a couple of minutes later and I now see this (I do not on Hitman own Epic, I haven’t ever played it there, but I did link my account):

huh, I guess we’ll see what happens :stuck_out_tongue:. at this point if it breaks it’s probably my fault for constantly pushing buttons without waiting for things to finish and I’ll live with that.

Oh wow! Make absolutely sure it’ll go to steam if you want it there… But that’s very cool that it worked!
Totally deleted any record of a previous data carryover, cool!!
