HITMAN 3 to become ‘World of Assassination’

…crisp? what does that even mean in this context?
What on earth are you on about?

2016 runs heavier than either H2 or H3; and uses more filespace to boot.

H3 may have heavier compression, but that only affects loading, not gameplay. That’s a win in my book.

Not to mention bring back that music that starts playing when you investigate the basement in Colorado.

H2016 has less filler animations for transitions between sneaking, door opening and such stuff. You get a feeling the moment you press things really matter as you get the result much more immediately.

NPCs also react more reliably on distractions. Now you can throw 5 coins and the group of NPCs that hears it sends a different of them each time to investigate.

I haven’t noticed any difference in that regard between the three games.

If anything, I found this to be less reliable in 2016, not more. Either way, I don’t think that has improved.

Wild, you are the first I know that does not even get the feeling things are different in H2016.

Probably because I don’t go speedrunning games and looking for filler animations as part of my to-do list.

The things I did notice were the animations being sped up between 2016/ 2 and 3 (THANK GOD), which looking back at my old ET runs were comparatively glacial compared to now. That’s crisp imo.

This is the third time i’ve had to change people’s quotes today! :joy:

Although Hitman 2016’s track never got old

Runs smoother, looks less shit. HUD elements got smudged between 1 and 2. Textures look less high ress. Better draw distance in the former. Smoother animations. And so fort.

The re-packaging is good news in general, but I agree with the other people who are baffled that New York and Haven Island weren’t shifted to be part of the base game.

Right idea, questionable execution.

No it doesn’t; 2016 is a very heavy game. H2 and H3 are less heavy than 2016 are.

I mean…debatably? I know people hate the lighting in some of the 2016 maps, but the only map I outright hate is Marrakesh, the rest look fine, and I think Colorado’s lighting has been improved in some respects.

they look pretty okay to me.

…no? They haven’t changed anything in that department? I know for a fact they have downscaled a few of the textures, but you’d need a pretty good computer to notice (as in, 2160p/ 4k monitor).

Again, hasn’t changed. It’s likely a few props haven’t been labelled correctly to fade out/ in when they should, but i’m reasonably sure that was an issue in 2016 too.

No bloody difference between the three games.

Right the sped-up animations where a good change in H2. It is not all black and white, things may got worse but others got better too.

In H2016 I made a contract where many of the lures in my approach worked like a charm. But in H2 onwards half of it does not work really. For example the showcase breakage luring the second guard into the museum. I have no H2 video to show in comparision, and I am aware this is more a speedrun matter in this case, but you can also go slow and still benefit of such lures.

I guess this might be the new opening title screen.
A fresh UI for main menu is welcomed too but the music theme has to be the same
Can’t wait for Freelancer mode !!!

P.S. Happy New Year Agents !!!

Well then, I await the comparison.

You don’t need to, I don’t really bother to do that to prove myself here. It is also not directly the topic here.
It is just my observation of the H2016 mechanics and why the game is unique enough to be played aside of owning H3.

I agree with that. In fact, quite a while ago, I made a list on TV Tropes of all the differences between 2016 and the later games (corner takedowns, for example were insanely untrustworthy, now they actually are pretty good). It is a bit of a time capsule in many respects:

No, for many reasons.

  1. Not everything in the games’ files is meant for the player to use.
  2. The E-phone isn’t coming back; Let it go already.
  3. TS6 is tied up with red tape from both SquEnix and Sony, it’s very improbable that, outside of mods, that it’ll be released in H3
  4. The “hacked” files are there either for testing or for later addtions. Only IOI knows.
  5. Not making everything in the game available is in no way kneecapping the userbase. The current system is kneecapping the userbase as new players can’t work out how to purchase the damn game!
  6. That appears to be the idea.

I’ve been expecting this for a year and a half now, this is a really good idea

Never. Not even when an actual new Hitman game is out will this be allowed to rest.

Why is Himmelstein on here? But not Siberia or that other sniper map who’s name escapes me at the moment. And why is Sgail after Mendoza? That not where it goes in the plot.

Otherwise, good plan I guess, making it simpler. But doesn’t really affect me since I already own everything except the Wrath escalation on PC and I’m not buying that.

Himmelstein was part of the Hitman 1 Pass, which is included in its entirety in the new main 70$ package. Siberia and Hantu were both Hitman 2 DLC, which are included in the 30$ Deluxe pack
