HITMAN 3: Seven Deadly Sins (NEW DLC)

At this point I’m convinced just one problem like having to purchase DLC or making a game exclusive is enough to snowball into complaints. I can’t say this time it’s justified as the blog is still word salad to me. Is it too late to get angry now?

Im just not expecting it until they say otherwise, or it will be the “Rave On” suit all over again. Tho, now that we have a first look at their DLC policy, I wonder if there still will be Bonus Missions later down the road. Its “only” six months to go, rather than 12 like Hitman 2. But other than that, new ETs confirmed, two new content escalations and the new holliday mission on the same day. I think this is the biggest we got since Havens release!

I would’ve agreed back in H2. But the deluxe escalations they’ve released in H3 so far have mostly been quality. And these look like they’re adding even more changes.

Escalation has become more of an umbrella term than a mark of quality/expectation imo

bruh… I’ll buy it but it seems like a waste to release more escalations as the paid content instead of proper bonus missions

This ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ thing doesn’t really make me exciting yet. No offense but it feels like IOI is exploiting their core fanbase with this stuff. It’s nothing but reskins that are shown in a fancy way. They know a lot of us buy this stuff due to the fear of missing out. But isn’t that just a little scummy? It’s cool Hitman finally got global attention but that doesn’t mean you can exploit that to make us pay for recycled content.

I’m not angry at IO, just disappointed.

It feels quite like a slap to people who paid for Deluxe editions.

Like some others have already expressed above, I cannot help but feel rather underwhelmed and disappointed by this. I am quite shocked to see overwhelming support both in the Twitter replies and on the relevant Reddit thread. Fans appear to be lapping up this paid DLC without a second thought.

It’s not, for the price of 7 Deluxe Escalation’s it’s steep. If it was a Bonus Level and Escalation per Season it would be a different story.

The Deluxe Pack was worth the pricing for what we got.

  • 6 DE

  • 6 Suits

  • 12 Items

  • 3 Soundtracks

  • Artbook

  • Commentary

Under a $30 Package.

So I mean IO is gonna have to justify the content for the pricing after what we got previously.

Quite the ridiculous pricing when we got 2 entirely new locations for less . We also got a mini campaign in Season 1 with new missions on old levels for less

I don’t get the whole “Deluxe edition should have it for free.”
We were promised 6 escalations.
We got 6 escalations.
We also got the soundtrack, artbook, commentary.

And by the time, unlocks like the Striker and Sieger Ghost were truly unique items that changed the game.

In defense, do we already know the price? I dont, so I only see the content. But with the pricetag comes the judge, I make it based on the price, and so will alot others too. You cant go wrong with IOIs quality for a reasonable price, if it is reasonable.

But youre right. Neither should be only be complaint, or support of this until we can judge the whole thing.

From a objective standpoint yes it is. From your personal perspective it’s not. Which is completely fine.

Ok, some thoughts:

As a concept, I don’t mind this. It’s a cool way to keep up player engagement, you get some very nice rewards by the looks of things from the escalations However…

In practice: This is just gonna cause confusion later on, as there will be eight DLC’s that essentially surmount to giving you access to some premium escalations. These should been part of the Deluxe Edition for a start, as all that gets you is atm is three D-escalations and a soundtrack, which is hilariously expensive. When you hear “Deluxe Edition”, I expect ALL Content to be there, not some of it cornered off into separate DLC’s as way to keep up player engagement. While these Deluxe Escalation may change the level in unique ways, these are side-content that exist to get suits and weapons, and IMO, aren’t really that replayable beyond release.

Expecting players to pay more money for content when Deluxe makes the game already quite expensive is untenable. We’re approaching COD:MW levels of price gouging. Even Payday 2, as much DLC as that has, offers more stuff for a similar price, and eventually combined old DLC’s into one package because of the massive list.

Kindly change this to a better system that benefits Deluxe owners, and either make the DLC’s cheaper, or outright make them Deluxe exclusive, because otherwise, this is just convoluted for the sakes of being convoluted and being, heh, Greedy. I will leave you to prepare IOI.

that is true. but it’s only been 2 months, and hitman 3 performed about twice as well as they expected, it is very very soon to be asking for more money tbh

no yer totally justified saying yer dissapointed

This, waiting for a deep discount this time. Right now its the same price as the deluxe edition, minus the three OSTs (and digital screenshot collection AKA the artbook).

I think people are making the not-entirely-unfair point that the DE wasn’t great value to start with, and although you can’t fault IOI’s clarity and honesty communicating what people would get for their money with the DE, the grumbles now seem to be more aimed at the perceived poor value of the DE content only being further highlighted by this new Seven Deadly Sins content also being perceived as similarly expensive for what it is.

Yeah, this starting with a coin reskin and a cane reskin doesn’t fill me with confidence.

On the other hand the theme probably means we will finally get bananas as a unlock when it’s Gluttony season so yey :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it’s fait to say the Deluxe is worthy for the Digital arts and the Soundtrack, but for the Escalations alone, hell no.
