I personally use an external hardrive to store most of my games that simply take too much space on the internal. If you’re playing on a Series X/S, it must be on the internal in order to play it (you can have it on an external regardless if you’re on previous gen consoles. But the harddrive is especially convenient if you wanna keep your games ready to play instead of uninstalling/reinstalling for a specific game.
i had to read over these multiple time to understand them lol. does this basically mean that i need to buy a usb drive to create more storage
And what happens if the download is completed before january the 20th?
Well you don’t need to no. It’s just convenient, you can have it on an internal drive without purchasing an external. But that would mean to uninstall other games to make space like Yellow said.
Nothing.
You’ll just have an installed game, but couldn’t launch it till the release.
After game is released you can dive into game straight away
It depends on how much space you console has in total. A % value alone does not help.
Almost straight away, your system needs to decrypt it first which should take much less time than the download.
Yeah, I believe this will take a few minutes even if not seconds.
Depends on the system and connection stability, maybe
Connection has no effect here, you only need to download the decrypt key which is maybe a few kB at most.
But since this is an online-only game, you better have not the worst Internet anyway.
Okay, thank you!
Because of the lockdown I don’t need to work that much, so I hope I can play the game at the night from Tuesday to Wednesday I will stay awake then
You will try to launch and try to play it and you’ll get an error message. This will frustrate you, but you’ll keep trying bc you really want to play the game and how do you know they won’t turn it on 2 hours or 4 hours early?
Well I will try to start it on January 20th at midnight. And if it doesn’t work, I will go to sleep and start it again in the morning, I’m sure it will work then. No reason to be frustrated
If I remember correctly, when HITMAN 2 was preloaded, I tried to launch the game, but it happened completely nothing. No reaction, no messages, nothing, like I didn’t touch the file at all.
But that’s on PC, I don’t know how it works on consoles
I believe the standard time for games to become available is about 17:00-18:00 UTC.
So your preloaded game will be unlauchable (is there a word like this? ) till approx this time
Well on PS4, when you try to launch a preloaded game, it will lead you to a countdown page. You can play it when the countdown reaches zero, ofc.
You should’ve placed a HITMAN countdown screenshot here
Ha! I will post mine when I preload H3.
Unlaunchable:
That which can not be launched.
Yes, it’s a word.
This sort of implies it’s a bug, or IOI being insanely malicious. Not something I’d expect for them to pull to be honest.
Myabe there’s a genuinely good explanation, but I’m not holding out hope. And the more they wait, the more toxicity around this increases.
I’m pretty sure it’s not a bug. Same happened recently with another big games like Horizon Zero Dawn on Steam and EGS.
The pre-purchase price has been jacked up in various countries.
Increasing the price to stop people from abusing regional differences disproportionately affects the people in those regions, making the games prohibitively expensive. It’s not clear if this is what’s happened here, though in the past Valve has suggested it to publishers. It could have also been a mistake on Sony’s part, and the prices were always going to be this high.
On another forum, I saw like a lot of people who take advantage of this system and bragging about it to buy the deluxe edition in argentina for 20$ (15€) instead of 89.99€ in their EU countries.
Not exactly nice to make digital goods literally unaffordable in low GDP countries just to prevent rich people from saving a few bucks right.
