Wow that main theme SLAPS!

In terms of early access roguelikes, I think I’ll be getting Hades 2 sometime and see how it evolves into a completed product, since I’ve got such an attachment with the first game.

I’ll be very excited to see how Rogue PoP fares next year once it fully releases on consoles. I’ve heard great first impressions already.

The demo is on general release on Steam, witches! Hopefully not too long until the full game release…

And a yooka laylee remake if it actually fixes major problems the game had that would be cool but I hope they have plans for a sequel

Very excited for Yooka-Replaylee given how much I love the first game, though I would’ve preferred Tooka-Laylee instead. I do still think they’re doing Tooka-Laylee, this might be just to bring the first game up to the level of the sequel.

From the trailer and Steam page, it seems like they are making several improvements: new camera, better challenges, more collectibles in the hub world, Vendi’s tonics getting overhauled, a map and challenge tracker, etc.

My hopes for things: more enemy variety, Rextro’s minigames being tweaked so they’re actually good (or just cut out entirely, for that matter), warp pads in the levels, Flappy Flight not being available everywhere, making the world expansions more significant, actually putting the God-tier Yooka Laylee rap in the game, and finally doing something with the “Loading Exposition” super secret UFO.

Never buy a game in Early Access unless you’re an idiot, but do Wishlist this game in Early Access so you can buy the shit out of it when it’s finished:

Jason Schreier article on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League development is out:
(archived version for reading access)

The game failed for a number of reasons, said the people, including a constantly shifting vision, a culture of rigid perfectionism and a genre pivot that was ill-suited for the studio.

In short:

  • WB was the one pitching for a live service game. Rocksteady had the final say, and so was the one accepting it. Because they wanted to do something different after all the Arkham games
  • Everything else was on Rocksteady leadership (including the founders that left during development)
    • the during development abandonment of melee for gunplay,
    • not listening to internal feedback, including the incomprehension of the design decisions,
    • constant prototyping and rejection for a lack of focus, and no study to comprehend the genre,
    • and finally Rocksteady very own version of “Bioware magic”, “it will all come together at the very end no matter how everything feels wrong”.

It would have been too easy to make another real Arkham game, i guess.

2K accidentally published, and then quickly removed a civilization VII banner on their website.
It had a link for a (still private) trailer.
The announcement has been rumoured to be today at the Summer Game Fest for a month now.

Personal hype on it!

This is the reason for the rumour:

This may be up your alley, @Silvereyes. I personally don’t have a powerful enough PC to play the game, so I’ll wait until whenever there’s a PS5 demo.

There’s plenty of gameplay videos on YT too if you want to have a look first. Despite the graphic looks a bit dated, I am interested into the gameplay aspect, like grinding your way up to buy new cars.

I think my PC would struggle to run it, my PC’s age is finally catching up now. Hoping to perhaps start putting money aside soon and start saving for a new one in a couple of years. But yeah, will keep an eye on this, hopefully there is a PS5 demo. PC gamer did a preview talking about how the game is at risk of being yet “another live service” thing, so will definetly not buy this at launch. Considering how long it’s been in development, I hope it is a fully finished game on release and not half baked.
