So:
- Four Xbox games going multiplatform, not named yet. Not Starfield, nor Indiana Jones. After one year exclusivity, and “community driven”. So basically to serve as envoy/ambassador if more appropriate for the brand
- Diablo IV first Activision Blizzard game to arrive on Game Pass March 28, more to come
- 2023 saw a lack of “grow”, which led to both lay-off and the new strategy
- Hardware still part of the flagship strategy, more announcement at the end of the year
- Reassurance toward anyone that have a library
- 34 million game pass subscribers
Nothing big, seems to just be natural evolutions.
So another case study on how gaming discourse on social media is hilariously incompetent.

I can’t tell if I should feel sorry for the people that watched that whole thing or be thankful I never watch these sorts of things also I hope one of those games is sea of thieves

Interesting. I guess we can already assume the titles based on some of the rumors and reports that have come out in the past few weeks,
- Hi-Fi Rush is a given, due to some file leaks
- Pentiment is another “smaller, one year exclusive” title that a lot of people expect to go multiplatform
- Sea of Thieves has been rumoured a LOT to be going multiplat, and it is community-driven definitely. (It may also be a move to cut into Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones release, if Xbox puts out their very successful, multi-year running pirate game on Playstation vs. The Looooong wait, little fanfare S&B)
- and potentially Grounded? Im not so sure what the 4th would be, but I’ve heard it floated around and no one pulled back on those statements for that game…
EDIT: also lol, saw someone say “That could have been an email”
Yeah lol no reason to wait a whole week just to say “yeah we vaguely have 4 games coming, but not the big ones everyone says”

Definitely not, but I’d imagine even if Skull and Bones were to take 2% of the playerbase from Sea of Thieves, Microsoft would still love to cut in and try to keep that 2% no matter what.
Business gotta business or something fml
(At least that’s my view on a potential Sea of Thieves multiplatform.)
Ah, also, it was said by Phil that “the announcements will be left up to our publisher/developer partners” for whenever they’re ready to do that…
So, yeah, great, what a great marketing build-up to… almost nothing.

I wasn’t so impressed by the 2020 Partner Showcases, hope this is a better turning point since we’re not under pandemic lockdowns

I’m very surprised that it wasn’t revealed in the recent Nintendo Partner Showcase (though maybe that just means plans for it were really shut down/couldn’t work), since today revealed Grounded goes multiplatform in April and Pentiment comes out Tomorrow (Feb 22)
No word on Sea of Thieves though.
Also alongside the New Game Plus update for Spider-Man 2 next month, you’ll be able to support a charitable organization that shows low-income students behind-the-scenes looks at game development and teaches them various tools used in the business, with a 2-suit DLC designed by the organization Gameheads.
It will cost 4.99$ and 100% of proceeds bought in the USA will be donated to the org for the first financial quarter of this year…
It will eventually become free at a later vague date. Since I am in Canada, am uneligible for my proceeds to be donated, and honestly I don’t like the suits, I’ll wait until it’s free thank you
…Honestly the suits look overdesigned and WEIRD. Why are they wearing 80’s neon purple parachute pants??
I honeslty like the tease of the suit underneath the clothing, Miles with the lightning-type design and Peter too. But just… gosh ugh why…
