or alternatively they could change the kill conditions. which they can do and idk why they didnt change it so every instance of the fire accident got changed to any method. because they can do it, for example when the dak gold got replaced briefly every instance of the dak gold in contracts and escalations was replaced

It is still possible though, no? You’d have to drag the targets down to the server room, but that isn’t impossible…just very, very tedious.

I never liked it even before the Molotov got nerfed. It was clear it was only picked for the pun* and nobody tested** or played it before selecting it.

So, @Clemens_IOI, I second the motion. Removing that Facebook/meta one proves it’s possible.

Well, it is still possible, even if it takes a while to do…funnily enough, I didn’t bother to 5-star this when I played it the first time and the Molotov was actually available as a fire accident…

As for the contract itself, I must admit that it was an oversight due to my misunderstanding of how oil leaks worked. Whilst I disagree that the contract isn’t fun (as I didn’t like it that much myself until I started it again via the FC), I do admit that it has become problematic in a post-nerf world.

What I would suggest instead, if possible, is that the two NPCs have their conditions altered to any method. It would spoil the thematic kills slightly, but I also think that given the circumstances it makes the most sense.

Or you could stick an oil drum in Chongqing

I think the contract is fun, just too long. There are so many people you have to knock out and stash somewhere to get a clear path to drag those two through it becomes tedious eventually. Not being able to save the game also means that if you miss just one possible observer, you have to start over. I did it in about 30 minutes, but that was the 6th or 7th attempt so the total time sink was well over 4 hours yesterday (and I’m apparently the 3rd best speed runner on the forum these days… ).

Don’t get me wrong, I still think it was time well spent, but it’s not a quick “in and out” type of contract.

Oh yeah for sure, it’s a bit of a hassle now without the Molotov. I think removing those kill conditions would be a far better option as I for one will probably never touch that contract again for that very reason… unfortunately.

Emphasis on the word forum, most of the best speedrunners are active in multiple discord servers, they are very, but very, inactive in the forum.

Same goes to the best contract creator too, since White Half is a goated creator, if he was nominated I wouldn’t even vote for myself, he’d get my vote

Yeah, it’s a bit of a weird community for runs. There are the ones who run the maingame who have their official speedrun leaderboards, and then you have the misc runners who run random stuff that seem to be scattered everywhere.

Even the people who speedrun contracts on YT are hardly among the best, since I’ve seen faster times on the in game leaderboards for people who haven’t shared their runs publicly (or at least with ease)

@Switcher I’ve seen you on a few discord servers btw. Any recommendations for ones with a speedrunning focus that I don’t share with you already?
