Tbh I donât even care what Freeze thinks of my contract.Hell,I donât even think he enjoys playing Hitman anymore. He is probably consumed by the views of his uploads and the money he earns. He emphasizes the â0 profitâ at his middle finger(really?) rant.
Letâs talk a bit about âmaximum effortâ for my contract.
Problem : Drown Hippie.
1st try Sieker him : He goes to the generator
2nd try Sieker him after the botanist : He goes at sea - not drown kill
3rd try : make him report a weapon : He goes to report at the nearest bridge guy
4th try : Hmmmm what if the guard isnât there?Oh wait he is aâŚtarget Aaaand Hippie goes to bridgeâŚ
Letâs add at the equation the Durians referenced on the ⌠hmmmm letâs see ⌠Title of the contract
If everything failsâŚLetâs search on Youtube(the platform from which Freeze earns money) the contractâŚOhâŚThe creator of the contract has posted his 2 solutions immediately when the contract was published Both of them involve the reporting of guns to the nearest available guard. No tricks!!!Ipersonally spent multiple hours in creating the contract to ensure that the methods work every time.
Anyway,I knew that my contract wouldnât be among the favorite ones , but I am happy whenever I see Agents solving this!!!
P.S. I too had a difficult time solving the Sakura contract but I took it slowly and made it SA.After watching the speedrun method I admired their way of thinking out of the box and of course didnât want to rant on this contract just because I couldnât solve it that way.
Yes, but not because of that Particular kill, if it was just Torres, Bridge Guard and 1 more random NPC it wouldvâe been fine, but having Torres, Bridge Guy, Akka + Crest and Farah with the restricted loadout just made it a bloated mess, sorry
Fair enough.I thought it would be challenging to have the injections and timing was good to add Farah with garden fork (mostly for the flower theme) while the hippie walked for the toiletâŚ
Whether Freeze is motivated by profit or laziness is irrelevant to the issue he raises.
There is of course nothing wrong with community content that relies on exploiting the vagaries of the game engine - however, making such content part of official IOI releases is questionable at best.
The worst of this is of course nonsense like food kills; this is literally relying on an internal mechanic of the game engine - namely that there is no body part health, so shooting someone just the right amount in other parts of their body suddenly makes it possible for 47 to kill them by lobbing a banana in their face. You could make this a bit less unfair by exposing a health meter, but that comes at the cost of immersion.
These flower power contracts arenât that bad, although the links to the theme are tenuous at best in most cases and tricks that rely on knowing that the engineâs path selection for a sick NPC are dependent on other sick NPCs already routing to their preferred point is also rather questionable.
On the other hand, creating contracts with broad appeal that make themselves interesting in the same way that IOI does with story missions is pretty difficult given that the only tools you have to work with are marking NPCs. A deeper level editing toolset would completely change the game.
I certainly agree that it would be nice if they fleshed it out some more before they stop support completely. Even just things like making the special kills like the cannon or iron maiden or whatever actually count as something - even if itâs just something like âenvironmental killâ. I spent ages on some of my early contracts playing around with some cool contracts only to get the dreaded âany methodâ.
God, I signed up for this⌠When I read on the forum what it says in the posts, Iâm like: "Dude, you donât even know how to do the quick exit trick, and you complain about having to use âGlitches and Tricksâ Seriously, either you complain about âGlitches and Tricksâ all the time, or you go to work at IOI to choose normal contracts. I have already completed 4 contracts from this series, I have 3 contracts left.
@Olipro my only problem with freezeâs rant was how it majorly generalized all the contracts as âsilly speedrun tricksâ when some were just normal ones. and the claim that none of them fit the flower power theme is vastly incorrect due to the descriptions and even the contracts that were submitted like mine and everyone elseâs. (to give examples for normal ones flour power and termination extermination).
it was alright. only reason i got 4 stars is i kind of mucked it up but decided to keep going since they hilariously didnât see me. also apricot tosser is a good name too. you from the UK?
Sure, but it speaks to a wider trend; at least for him it was the straw that broke the camelâs back.
As I said previously, the link is pretty tenuous if the only glue holding it together is a bit of hidden exposition in the mission description. Thatâs not the fault of the creators though; there are only so many flowery level areas you can construct a decent contract in.
The thing that pisses me off with people like Freeze is that featured contracts are meant to be difficult. If your fc is too easy or not a challenge to the repected target audience then the contract will be quite frankly⌠shit. Most featured contracts are catered to speedrunning or experienced players not people who got the game from game pass and played each mission once. Christ sake people on this earth man, Jesus Christ. PS sorry for the rant it was just a way to let of my opinions of anger towards idiotic people.
I tried to read his post again because I remember the comments in there were talking a lot about how all of them pretty much hated FCs anyways, and was going to talk about that, but it looks like he took the post down or hid it or something.
