Where is Felix Adams?

Outside guarding the front door, on the left at the top of the steps  I’ll put text/screenshots for future ones in case people want to recreate them!

Here’s part 5 of Magicians of Fortune. This one was a nightmare to make so I hope everyone has as much “fun” playing it as I did making it.

Folk Metal (Xbox), 3-22-0238103-59

“Ringing endorsement” aside, I do think it should probably be more fun to actually play.

Anyway, here’s the rest:

This was fun!

Curious, what’s your time on this one? @Crewdy

I had fun with this one. I know there were no restrictions, but as I’m a bit rusty I wanted to set myself the additional challenge of SONKO and FW kills

The Block - SONKO+FW (4.09)

I hadn’t actually done my run yet, but just did a 3:16.

That said, I ran in to (maybe?) a bug. When I created the contract, I used the flash phone to lure all 4 targets, but when I played the contract, it only worked on 1. After I had used it once, I couldn’t use it as any type of distraction, not even thrown, the NPC would just shrug their shoulders and ignore it. Never had that happen before. Had to use emetics to force the maid upstairs instead.

I estimated around a 2:40 based on the creation but that was relying on the phone. What was your time?

Only thing I would say about this one, is that I had taken out all the targets except Wilson by about 4:00, so I had a bit of hanging around waiting for the beak staff. Nolan’s bodyguard is a nightmare though, dude literally doesn’t care about a taser in the middle of the road, or a gun, or anything. Had to emetic him in the end.

It was originally going to be beak staff for all the targets but then I realized it takes about eight years to spawn so I had to recalibrate a bit. I guess you’re still a little too fast though (should be okay for non-speed runners then)…

I just poked him with a lethal syringe when he and Cassidy are on their way back into the house through the garage; just jostle him a bit, or throw a distraction, to get some separation and nobody notices.

Anyway, other than the waiting, how was it to play? Just so I can keep building my contract making skills

Ya beat me by 15 seconds. And yeah the beak staff wait sucks. That’s part of the “fun” intended.

Nolan’s BG is easy, you’re forgetting something food related. I didn’t kill him this way but it’s stupid simple.

I tried it 5 times, nice time BTW.

I used the phone too and realized that it works on only one person at a time, which means once the NPC has reached the point of distraction, only then the phone distraction works for the other NPC. Sucks really. So, I used coins for 2 targets and the phone for the other 2. Ended up with 2:47.

Just did The Block by @linux_penguin in 3:22. Had no idea it would be the fastest time.

I quite enjoyed it personally, but I’m a bit of a sucker for hidden weapon contracts (see Old Fashioned Axe Juggler). The other targets were quite nice - 2 people that tail another character and 1 that has to be moved, plus a freebie in Batty who is already isolated. Good use of the whole map, which on a map like WC is good as it’s relatively small. You can work in a circle and take each target out in turn before getting the staff.

What I would say is, most casual players probably won’t know how to get the Beak Staff, and if they do, they might not be inclined to wait around for it. It’s quite a niche contract; and a lot of people would probably have to look online to work out how to complete it. You could potentially think about making the hidden weapon target an easy one as a reward for waiting for it (such as the isolated Plumber in the empty house, or the guy who comes in to the basement when you start the sound system). Susan Wilson is quite a high-risk target when you’ve already waited 5-6 minutes for the staff, though it does fit the story better!

Oh, the poisoned muffin? Always forget about that! This took me at least 6-7 attempts :grimacing:

Wow, that’s an interesting quirk of the phone; makes sense as when I created it I waited to see how long it took each target to get to their push spot so I could check timings. Very nice time!

Thanks! Here’s my run.

Absolutely hate it when your outfit glitches like that…

Everyone except Euler so far has done it with the elusive contract rules, where there’s no mini map, npc icons or instinct. That is a good regular time though!

I tried to alleviate the wait but you guys were a little too fast…

When I made it, I followed him and Nolan into the garage and jabbed him with a lethal syringe. I don’t know if it’s faster but nobody notices.

That’s what I was going for, and was pretty sure was possible, but I didn’t do it that way when I made it. I spent a lot of time scouting potential targets, reworking plans to fit various things, making sure it was doable SO and doing something stupid towards the end and having to start over. :smiling_face_with_tear:

I didn’t know it existed until I was looking up various weapons that only appear on one or two maps to get ideas for the series after I was inspired by the unicorn horn in Dartmoor. That’s why I tried to give the hint about the house in the briefing but there’s a couple disused houses and I also had fit a very abridged version of the story in 500 characters…

I thought about that too but for some reason I developed a very pathological need to not interact with him. I’m not sure why, other than to see if it was possible to keep him awake/alive and also get the staff to spawn, but he’s the main reason for no pacifications. That then caused the first of many reworks because I was going to use the sheriff’s outfit but I couldn’t pacify him to get it and I couldn’t make him a target because he was the client.

Anyway, I think it mostly worked out in the end but I’ll take the tips into account for next time. Thanks for the advice and glad there was some enjoyment to be had.

@Krikkit2021

It took me 3-4 hours to get my time down to this. Never again.

@Adil15101 @ColdDayInHell nice runs! What did you think of the targets? I tried to choose them based on how long it took them to get to the fall point, but wasn’t sure if they were too awkward.

@Hamushi that guard lure was nuts, I didn’t even realise you could see him from that window! Nice one!

I need to come up with 2 more ideas for Dubai & Berlin to complete this set. I also have a full series of contracts that I’ll be making soon, probably when I have some holiday in a few weeks.
